Default Rotel amp, Denon Processor.

I have ordered a Rotel RMB-1075 and i should get it tuesday of next week. My current set-up is, Denon 2307 (as a processor when i get the amp), RF-82, RB-51, RS-42, RC-52, and a pair of JBL 400watt RMS subs. I am running a 7.2 (or 7.1 w/e i have 2 subs). However the amp is a 5 channel amp. I was originally going to wire the center, fronts, and side rears to the rotel, and the surround back to the denon receiver. Would ya'll recommend another way in wiring it, and will i hear that much of a difference as far as having 2 speakers hooked up to the receiver and the rest to the amp? Also if i did wire 2 speakers to the receiver and the rest to the amp, would there be some sort of delay because the speakers are coming from different amps? ... Or would ya'll recommend purchasing a 2 channel amp? (i really didnt want to get another external amp unless if i would here a difference)

Congrats on your new ROTEL!

I think that this company offers some great products at reasonable prices and are highly undervalued in the audio world. If you want a serious bang for your audio dollar than Rotel is a great product to own.

Enjoy it my friend!

I drool over the Rotels at my local shop...... can't afford them right now though

They pair up with B&W, ML, and Paradigms quite nicely in my opinion.... at least what I have heard them connected to the most.... My local dealer carries totems too, but they have them connected to a higher end Denon AVR.... I like them too by the way.

Like prerich said you're good with this setup, and also make sure you recalibrate.

I'd recommend looking into this one as well: Emotiva UPA-7, and don't let the price fool you. It's also free shipping on all gear until the end of the year. I have the prior version of this amp (LPA-1 x 2), and I'm very impressed with the performance, to say the least.

Wow that Emotive one has a great price on it and look very nice. How does that compare with the Rotel RMB1075? To bad i already ordered the Rotel i got it for $550 lightly used in excllent condition (i hope i didnt get ripped off). A guy in my area is selling a rotel RB980 2 ch amp for $225 (120 watts X 2). Power rating is the same as the 1075 (120 watts). If i did buy it i would use the 980 (although older rotel amp than he 1075) for the front main and then all my speakers would be powered by an external amp (120wattsX7) but im not sure if its worth the extra $225 just to give the back power, i mean the back speakers rarley get used(though i plan on watching alot of 7.1 bluray movies).

The rotel is a nice amp, but running 7.1 you will want another amp for the other 2 speakers because your denon wont be able to keep up with the rotel and while i am not familiar with your speakers you should be able to tell a real difference between the rotel and the denon. then start saving for a pre-pro, a huge difference over a receiver.

So you're the lucky one that nabbed it for 550 on agon. I was browsing there the other day and saw that amp, but then saw it was sold already Grats though!

Finally got my amp hooked up. I re-calibrated my receiver, and put it to the test. Movie wise i here no difference, only the fact that its louder. (still sounds great though)..Music wise in Pure mode (or stereo mode)...the difference can diff. be heard when playing CD's. High's Mid's and Low's are in much more detail, and of course louder. Was it worth the $550 i paid? I think it was. I am very happy with it.

Looking good, and I'm thankful for your short review, because that's one less amp for me to look into buying With my hca-1000a I was able to notice an improvement on both movies and music, so I want the same for my 5 channel amp when I get one. Glad you enjoy it though!

Very nice looking set-up. Kind of a dissappointment that you heard no difference in movie's. Like mentioned above I'm looking into the EMOTIVA amps. Was considering the Rotel, but have heard ONLY good things EMOTIVA.

I only tested one movie, im going to test othe movies see if i hear a difference, hopefully i do because alot of ppl with this amp said they have. I tested Batman Begins on regular DVD. Im going to test Hellboy 2 7.1 DTS HD Master, Iron Man in DOlby TruHD and U-571 HD DVD in DTS.

Ima put bluray in and in audio i put Pure mode on it (the display turns off in his mode) and audio is a huge improvment. I guess it might depend on the speakers as well. But from i hear Klisch Reference series are power hungry.

Actually, the Reference series is very efficient. I'm sure they enjoy more power like most speakers do, but they don't require much to drive them.

Poped i Hellboy II (DTS HD Master Audio 7.1) and wow, there is in fact a difference, its much powerful, and seems that my theater room is bigger than it is. I kept on connecting the speakers to my Denon and Rotel amp, and i could here a difference. Surround sound seems much detail in them as well. I guess i should of tested with a series of tsts b4 saying anything about the amp, my fault.
