Default Pwning noobs all day long + other random topics on ps3

1) On Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, I got kicked out of the lobby four times in 4-5 hours of online gaming in one day. This happened after I helped won the match and came in on top. I don't camp, no trash talking/cursing/anything resembling obnoxious behavior, grenade spammer. What kind of message are gamers sending. Of course how ironic when your losing matches then you can stay.

2) Having sooooo much fun on the games and overall entertainment that the ps3 provides, I won't be picking up a ps4 on launch. I feel this generation of graphics is what gamers have been waiting especially those who game on consoles like me. High-definition makes all the difference between ps2 or ps3 so I had to get my hands on the ps3 asap, but late ps3 games in 2011 or launch titles on ps4; don't imagine a huge difference. Who here wants a ps4 asap when it launches and why?

3) Never experienced an mmo before. So I'm a fence-sitter on these type of games. The only way I see sony tempting console gamers like me is to have a trial period of 30 days free and then implementing a monthly fee instead of annual fee. I think most of us new gamers prefer a lower priced game with the paying for additional content. I think paying full price and an automatic charge of $9.99 a month or more for a year will only entice die-hard mmo players. How will sony convince gamers like me, are they taking note?

I've never been one to buy a console on launch, but I'm very curious to see what direction the next generation takes us. I've seen some truly breathtaking graphics, not limited to the PS3 (such as Gears of War 2, MGS4, Uncharted 2, etc). There is still room for improvement as I still see jaggies in some of these games. Again, I'm not saying they look bad, only that there is still room for improvement. A lot of games don't run at 1080p native. IMHO, it is a mistake to disregard the next generation based solely on possible graphical improvements. Technology changes so rapidly that it's hard for me to accept that 3 years from now things will be the same as today.

Why rush a ps4? Milk ps3 for everything it can do....I mean look at nintendo...They dont have dvd...blu-ray...and there graphics are ps2 at best..possibly ps1 graphics on certain games...And they are making profits...Ps3 shouldnt change to up the graphics or anything...There ok..If anyone should change its nintendo to catch up but why they still make money...And xbox to make a more reliable system and add blu-ray + wireless to try and be equal...In the future of gaming i think it will come down to...What all can my system do for the money...ps3 plays dvds...cds...free online..netflix...blu-rays...games...to me thats the selling point..when ps4 does come out i could still use my ps3 as a dvd/blu-ray/cd player if i wanted to..i wouldnt use xbox 360 as a dvd player when the next xbox comes out..most people dont use there 360 to watch movies anyways...and when the new nintendo console comes out it will probably have dvd at least if not blu-ray so the wii wouldnt be used for much..Thats just my thoughts on the matter.

This has been happening forever, and is one of the reasons why stats based on user opinion don't really work(people occasionally suggest that being kicked X number of times should result in a ban, or that people should have a reputation score in a game based on user votes).

Special thanks to progers13, BirdmanJr and Terjyn for replies.

@progers13-- I have noticed a sharp decline on a number of games from ps1 compared to ps2 and ps2 to ps3. The better looking games will cost a fortune with a higher risk; EA publisher already cut about ten titles plus how many more cancelled or delayed until further notice from others. Jaggies don't bother me much, I'm guessing you pc/mac gaming fans notice while I solely game on console.

@Birdman13-- I agree, the biggest issue console gamers have is wanting our console(s) to play and games for more than seven years.

@Terjyn-- Got booted out today again after an impressive 41 kill 6 death ratio. Kicked out today again, happened yesterday, the day before that, happened last week, etc. What do these gamers want from me, other than to lose.

They sure as hell better not start releasing games that will only work on PS4 and not PS3. At least not for a long time.

Plus besides graphics what could they possibly do to improve on the PS3?

I already use it for DVDS, Blus, and the USB ports to plug my external HD and play videos and music off that.

I have it hooked up to my monitor and so I use THAT as a TV.

The only improvement I can think of (of course I'm not the expert on possibilities) is to put a coax or something in the back so you can run your cable television through it. Not sure how feasible that is.

Cool

graphics won't be on the forefront for next gen consoles as much as how we interact with games. That will be the big step in technology for the next console IMO

But perhaps we will see some 3D gaming

Say what? When the PS4 is eventually released, this obviously has to happen.

that's what i don't get,most games aren't native 1080p and mostly hover around 720P..

but it's not all about graphics,i still get a kick out of Mario World 3 on Nintendo.
and Secret of Mana on Super nintendo with the original Mario Cart.

i think most game developers will dump even more money to make video games in the future, they say making a Highly rated game is just the same as a Hollywood movie box office hit...making money in the 300 million dollar range

This goes against the business model in play, but I for one would enjoy seeing cross-platform online gameplay more readily on the next-gen systems. Competition is good amongst the hardware makers, but the competition between different system owners would help the videogame industry as a whole. Just MHO.

I'll be buying a PS4 close to launch... it just felt great when I had gotten the PS3 and there weren't any kids whining or starting trouble.

1) Yeah that sucks. Of course sometimes people just want to play with friends regardless of whether they are good or not. Imagine playing basketball with your friends at the local park and all of a sudden michael jordan wants to join.

2) The processing power of the newest 2009 Direct X 11 video cards on the market are far far and away of what the 2004-2005 RSX can ever hope to imagine. So I disagree that graphics will only have a slight bump. I will get a PS4 at launch

3) The biggest hurdle for MMOs on consoles IMO is the lack of buttons. The dualshock simply doesn't have enough compared to a keyboard.

lol I was thinking the same thing. This gen hasn't even reached its full potential so to think they'd dump it in 2-3 years I'd be quite shocked... But 4-5 years I could see it then.
