Default Capcom delaying more games

Quote:
Capcom is delaying Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising 2 and the North American release of Monster Hunter Tri into a 12-month period starting on April 1, 2010.

A forecast revisions document reveals that all four titles will be pushed back to the company's 2010 fiscal year (staring in April, ending March 31, 2011) and spread out over all four quarters of the year. The document lists the reasons for the delays as follows.

・Avoid competing with the major titles that other companies plan to introduce
in the 4th quarter
・Preserve the value of Capcom's titles and maximize sales volume
・Expand the lineup of titles in the next fiscal year and afterward

No concrete release dates are listed in the document, but tipster Rory says "This corroborates rumors spread about Super Street Fighter 4's new release date of April 1st being confirmed in this week's Famitsu, due out Thursday."

Capcom's upcoming full game lineup doesn't look very appealing to me at the moment, including the unremarkable Dark Void. I don't believe Lost Planet's major irritations will be fixed for the sequel based on the demo and Dead Rising 2's spotty coverage (and unproven developer) has me very suspicious.

Just the RE5 Expansions and RE PSP to look forward to at the moment. Pretty disappointing.

I agree with Shin-Ra...Aside from the RE5 expansion and maybe SSF4, I don't think I'll be getting anything from Capcom.

They still need to make a next-gen Monster Hunter...

Is there a Dark Void demo in existence in either retail network yet? If not, I won't talk about it.

The only Capcom games I can think of that I'm looking forward to are SSFIV and Dead Rising 2

I think they are moving most of those titles because they do not want them to compete with the few titles they have coming out. They probably do not want another repeat of bionic commando (even though that game was doomed from the start); I am looking forward to resident evil psp and the motion-controlled version of resident evil 5 for ps3. I am like alot of you guys that are not that impressed with lost planet 2, dark void, and dead rising 2 (see they should have dropped the first version on ps3 day and date with the other versions).
I also agree with Black Mamba and that Capcom "should" give us a next gen version of monster hunter (psp version is great, but lets be honest if this game was on ps3 it would totally be a better game visually and network wise than the one they are charging people to play on the wii).

There really isn't many Capcom games I like. The only real one I like is Fate/Unlimited Codes for PSP that they published.

Business wise this is a smart move on their part. The first of the year is throughly over crowded with titles right now. They are smart to push some things. I think that RE5 should stay where its at. SSF4 who cares, this wont sell not matter what. Its too soon for a Super version.

I've always like Capcom games but their upcoming line up.....doesn't scream "buy me".

As of now, RE5 and SFIV are less than a year old..I'm not in a hurry to buy the "new" versions/expansions. And Lost Planet 2..eh maybe.

How about a new Darkstalkers game or a Devil May Cry game that doesn't suck?

Street Fighter and Street Fighter Alpha are separate series like Mega Man and Mega Man X. Super Street Fighter IV Turbo is more likely.

It's amazing that after all of this time the only newest Darkstalkers games are just the 1 for PSP, Chaos Tower or whatever it's called and also (well not technically but the characters are in it) Cross Edge.

Devil May Cry well Bayonetta is from the director of Devil May Cry or something along those lines so that's pretty much our Devil May Cry for now.

I was noticing that everything and its dog was coming out March 2010. Just wish they'd bumped things back instead of forward. I'm still waiting to buy super street fighter 4.
