Default Does Capcom (Res Evil) know how to make great games or what!

I just bought Resident Evil 4 for my 60GB PS3 so I can be rdy for Res Evil 5 and am totally amazed by this company and game. I've never played a game with so little repetitiveness amongst other pros, like the length of the game, 27 hours into the game now..I just cant wait for Resident Evil 5 now...

How was Devil May Cry 4 also by Capcom? Anyone liked it, I think Ill get that one too, I remember the first was great.

I wish Capcom would make more games, especially survival horror ones and with the same amount of design and detial as Res Evil 4, wow what a game!

27 hours....are you crawling through the entire game? I have beaten this game countless times. It was my favorite game last gen. I think the fastest i ever ran through it was 5 hours or something like that. Amazing game, can't wait until March 13th.

Its nice that you like RE4 but have you played the "real" resident evil games of the past? RE4 is not as good as those. maby to new players, but to veteran fans its a big letdown. to much action and not enough of what the game was built on......survival horror.

RE5 looks to be the same so im not excited. even the games original producer said he doesn't want to play it cause he'll end up disappointed. its not the game he would of made.

as fun as the older ones are, the new one is still amazing. Sure it is not really a survival horror, more like a survival action game, but it is still an amazing game. I am sure they could have made it more horror if they had wanted but oh well, I am still super excited for Resident Evil 5.

Devil May Cry 4 is a solid entry into the series, but I'd recommend DMC 1 or 3 over it. As a huge fan of the series, DMC 3 is my favorite. It has the best overal gameplay and the best realization so far of the series's style of combat system. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not telling you to avoid DMC 4. It should be played. Just know its not the very best on offer.

Resident Evil 4 was a huge suprise and a well executed one at that. Some fans of the series hate the game for not following the same archaic format of the old games in the series. I am very glad they made the change and it was definitely for the better. There were like 8 of those old style resident evils, I think that style of game has seen enough development.

Its really amazing though how similar this new style resident evil is to the old ones. The controls are almost the same! They are still tank controls! The change of perspective has just give the player a lot more direct control and so allowed the developers to create much more dynamic enemies and situations. The gameplay and gunplay is just plain better. And, you re still running around solving puzzles and finding keys and stuff. Though its a little less contrived, so there is less backtracking. That's a good thing. Resident Evil 4 does a great job of keeping the player moving forward.

Anyone who still yearns for the old setup, I'd point you to the Silent Hill series. Its always been better than Resident Evil as far as traditional Survival Horror goes and there is a new entry out on PS3. Early versions of Resident Evil 4 were actually very reminiscent of a Silent Hill game (check youtube or gametrailers for some early videos). I think Capcom felt it was just too much of the same old thing.

Your playtime does seem to be on the upper end, but I wouldn't let anyone ge t you down about that. My first playthrough was about 20 hours.

looks more like ghosts then what RE games are about. RE4 is closer to the original than that video (which would be great for another series).

Personally I'm glad they improved the gameplay. Really the controls are similar but it just feels much better and easy to aim shots, etc due to the camera being better.

RE4 = one of my favorite all time games, can't wait for RE5

Capcom has been making great games since the 8bit days. Who here hasn't played Mega Man 2?

RE4 is still survival horror. It's just not zombie survival horror.

And the control scheme/camera of the games prior to RE4 were awful. I played them all, and I still have nightmares about just how bad those games were from that aspect.

The Producer may not be satisfied with what is left, but almost everyone else is.

This. I've played all the main series RE titles and the remake of RE1 on the Cube and I think 4 was the best. I miss the straight up Zombie elements of 1 and 2 but the better graphics, more fleshed out story and substantially better gameplay/control of 4 makes it the best one IMO.

I've Played Resident Evil on the playstation but never liked that thing that would pop out every so often chasing you with a bazooka, that's not survival horror? I hear that a lot, people complaining that Res Evil 4 wasnt good for them, There's a lot of horrific parts in this game, in the operation room, etc, the game deserves it's 9.3 - 9.5 rating.

I also played Res Evil Veronica X but never finished it, I think it's time to pop it in again, It just makes me sick when that gorilla with the bazooka keeps popping out lol, that thing kills the whole res evil zombie feeling.

I've finished Devil May Cry 1 and it was great, which is better the regular 3rd one or the special edition one?

Err, I leave it paused sometimes to watch Football or some movie, guess the clock must have been working there, besides it's a horror game, I like to go slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I'm not one of those geeks that finishes a game fast to feel cool or anything.

I liked RE4 a lot... but I REALLY want them to get back to the old school style RE games. The only thing I'd like them to retain from RE4 is the gun upgrade system. That was awesome!

After all these years it's nice to finally hear from someone else who didn't like RE4. I'm a huge fan of the RE series (bordering on obsessive), and I didn't like the changes which were made with 4. To me, it felt like a combat game which simply had some horror elements slapped on it. (It also reminded me a lot of the PC shooters Blood and Blood 2: The Chosen.) I also thought that it was repetitive and boring, as those same guys in cloaks kept coming at you. I really miss the claustrophobic horror games from earlier in the series. I had not seen that footage from the scrapped version of 4. Now that looked like a good game! Also, the recently released RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION may not have been the greatest movie ever made, but it would make a hell of a video game. Video game companies keep making shooters, fighting games, and racing games which are simply carbon copies of one another, so I keep hoping that someone will see that Capcom's insistance on changing the Resident Evil games means that there is a niche in the market which needs to be filled.
