Play.com order question - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone ever ordered their bluray's from play.com. I see they have a few titles coming out that I would love e.g.( Lucky Number Slevin and Gangs of New York). They are scheduled for release 13/8/2007 whatever the hell that means. Just curious if anyone else has made some transactions from here.

Since play.com is a UK site - 13/8/2007 is the 13th of August of 2007. In the US it would be 8/13/2007.

Remember, we are ass backwards.

Does not appear you can order from play.com - at least it won't let me select USA from the list of countries because its not there.

any idea as to why they are getting these killer titles over there and we're not?

Its just how things work. Sadly. I don't think those titles will play on a US PS3. They are different regions, then again I could be wrong as I don't keep up. Just a guess tho.

This is nothing new....many titles are released overseas and not in the US for a while....eventually we get them over here.

You can get it from amazon.co.uk though....I have done this with the Island

If my calculations are right, you paid like 40+ bucks for The Island. Maybe its me, but isnt that too much? That is the main reason I don't import. The prices are relaly high. I can get 2 movies for that here.

They are all region and do play on the PS3

Just for the record, Play.com is probably the 2nd biggest online shop in the UK (after Amazon) and I purchase most of my stuff from there. In the last 7 years ive made about 2000 orders.

They have a us site which sells too Amerinca & Canada Playusa.com
Bit its focussed on American releases.

Very trustworthy & reliable company.

I have been ordering from them for years & have recently been buying Blu-Ray discs from their site also.

Now that it seams a lot of Blu-Ray movies are multi region, I intend on importing them whenever possible (as I currently do on R1 dvds).

So, for the record, Play.com / Playusa.com is an extremely good online store!

All my blu-rays have come from Play.com, they are excellent. But I also wonder why some films are available in the US, but not in the UK - and vice versa. I really want Hero and House of Flying Daggers, but no sign of them yet.

I have just pre-ordered the Spiderman blu-ray box set though!
