Red face Polk Audio TSI 500 towers are Great!

hey!,i just made the choice to buy a complete home theater system, with the polk audio gear in my sig with the Onkyo!..my first ever receiver the tx sr-706 with the first set of polks i've ever owned.

these speakers sound great!...the sound image is good, the sound field is awesome for 2ch over CD input, the sound really surrounds you..voice's are life-like,piano sounds crisp as it should be.

i don't think they're fully broken in yet either,i've only watched these movies so far,Close in encounters with the third kind, sin city, kill bill 1-2,300,Half of the series of "Band of the Brothers"

& about 4 hours of music,so they should be sounding better ahead right??..im quite sure the break-in takes about 30 hours before you'll notice it..

also, after those movies i watched above,i blasted it and played the ac/dc concert Live at Doningtton....hehe,damn good concert!...hopefully that had no negative effects on the break-in,sure was a damn good one thu!.

Does anyone else Own this Line of speakers from Polk?,i enjoy them!

Well done, chap! I demo'ed the 400 and 500 series over the summer and was resoundingly impressed with Polk's upgrade of the Monitor line.

Congratulations on both of your purchases! Have you already ran Audyssey on your 706?

no i have not ran the Audyssey,i hear it works wonders for some people and others not..
i did some reading up on it and while holding the mic,i need a stand to have it on while it runs the tests at ear height...i Don't have a stand and im wondering what to do so far,i know it's a feature i paid for and should use....but im stuck at the moment wondering if i should Tweak around with it holding the mic in the air and trying to keep it at level......MR.BEAN STYLE with no stand for the mic

got any idea's?,go for it?.

Find something to put the mic on (like where you sit) and move it around as necessary.

I used a small digital camera tripod that came with my camera. It's like those gorillapod articulating tripods. It's very small and screwed in just fine. I then sit the tripod at the top of the couch near ear level.

Actually, here's one that's just like it that's super cheap and should work fine:

http://www.amazon.com/SunPak-Sunpak-...9355296&sr=8-1

It's under $5 shipped!

With that much room around the receiver you do not need the fan.
It is designed to run at those temperatures.
You only need a fan if you have very little ventilation around your receiver.

I like the speakers, good job. The center looks huge!!
I am also looking to buy the 606 with polk speakers, thanks for showing your setup.

Are you going to mount your TV?

Right now, that fan is only making extra noise!

actually i am planning to get these as well (TSi500), it seems they are the only polk towers with woofers and not subwoofer audio range, which is really great if u want to buy a dedicated sub to cover the subwoofer range.

yeah, here's the one I'm ordering, haha, now that you bring up the size of the center speaker,it is!.

the Tech Craft 42'',my copy and paste job of the spec's
* 42" Wide Black flat panel stand with mount built-in
* Creates that stunning floating look
* Brilliant silkscreen black glass against metal posts for a gorgeous complement to your flat panel set
* Broad wire management panel and ample component space provided

and MADNOD,you won't be disappointed in these, the bass is very good for their size and its very tight sounding...i was kind of amazed to know how they do produce bass...i had to take off the cover one time to just see how much the speaker was moving and you were not able to notice any movement till you touched the speaker it's self..yet it was hitting low on pure audio with the onkyo

Congrats on he new gear Blu!! The Polks look great. You should be happy with the Tech-Craft unit. I had the Tech-Craft TRK55 for a year and that mofo was built like a tank! You can see pics on in my Old Energy Setup. I picked that one because it had more space available for future upgrades at the time.
