Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus - Discussion - Blu-ray Forum

After wanting to see this for months, my girlfriend and I finally drove an hour to see this today. for those unaware, this is Heath Ledger's final film (he died during production).

So, if anyone understood this film at all, please help me out. I think I hated it because the last 40 minutes felt to rushed and garbled.

I stopped caring about this film sometime late last year. If you aren't going to release your film in places where people can SEE the damn thing, then who cares.

I'll pass on it.

I'll watch Terry Gilliam work anytime.

i liked it / was with it until it switched to johnny depp, then the whole movie became a strange mess. it felt like they were making it up as they went along.

i would have liked it if it was just these travelling misfits going around living in their own world, but then it became too much about special effects

Thought it was nothing special, unfortunately. When Ledger introduces Dr. Parnassus you can totally hear his Joker voice which was kinda cool.

"...DOCTOR... PAR-NAW-SISSSSSSSS" had a similar tone to "why so serioUSSS"

Penitus, it's a Gilliam film. You're not suppose to "get it"

Gilliam's films aren't for everyone and I'm glad because they're kept under the radar. He has quite a few timeless gems that have more replay value than most movies. He's one of the literally few directors who I can safely say is an "artist".
