Memorex MVBD-2520 skipping? - Blu-ray Forum

My friend got the entry level of entry level Blu-ray players the Memorex MVBD-2520 about a month ago. For some reason it skips on DVD movies only. Works fine for Blu-Ray but skips on regular DVD. Is it a possible setting or is it just a cheapo BD player? I set it to put out 1080P for DVD's along with BD's but his Plasma is 1080P. Also it is HDMI from Blu-ray to Plasma. Thanks for the help JC

I have the same issues, and I have no clue why.
I just use the player for Blue Ray movies only, and my other for regular DVDS,

He took back the memorex and got another one and IT DID THE SAME THING! Can you believe that? Its like it doesn't read regular DvD. He then returned it for the money and got a Sony Bluray player from Costco. It works great. Crazy that memorex. JC

Not to knock it..well I am..it's a Memorex, they even made bad blank tapes back in the days....

The only thing Memorex ever did right was make good CD-R's and DVD+R's IMO lol

Agree that is why he returned it. I have a PS3 and the thing is flawless! Still the best BD player on the market. JC

My dad had the exact same issue. Skipped like mad on standard dvd's, fine on blu-ray. He had gotten two from Target and both had the same issue. He got his money back and bought a Panasonic BD60. Everything is great now!
