Default Samsung BD-P1600 - Questions

Hey All,

I have some questions reguarding the Samsung BD-P1600.

The first Blu-Ray player I bought was an open box Samsung BD-P1200, I got it home with a handfull of movies, 1/2 of which would not play. Waited over a month for firmware, which never came and finally ended up returning it.

I then ended up buying the Panasonic BD30 (@$599), because according to everyone here at the time it was the BEST & the only one that had full java support having almost no problems playing ANY blu-ray movie.

I am VERY happy with my BD30 as I have NEVER had a blu-ray that wouln't play on it.

As for my question about the Samsung BD-P1600, My wife bought me this model for Christmas as it was on sale at BestBuy for $119 and she knew I have been wanting a blu-ray player for our bedroom so I could watch my growing blu-ray collection in bed if I so choose.

Does this Samsung have full Java support like the Panasonic BD30? I know the Samsung is Profile 2.0, Do all profile 2.0 players have full java support now?

Has Samsung gotten any better about their firmware updates, or should I stay away from this model and exchange it for a different brand?

If your suggestion is to exchange it for another, which of the sub $199 players is good?

Best Buy also has a Panasonic DMP-BD60K for the same price as she spend on this Samsung player, but she said she thought the Panasonic player looked "Cheap". (Not sure how she's judging that).

I admit I havent kept up on all the new players like I use to.

Thanks for the help.
