USA New Sony SAW2500 Sub

Hey guys I just picked up this sub today. I am loving it so far but I had a couple of questions.....The first question being what do I set the frequency cutoff at??? It is a dial that goes from 50hz-200hz....Also how high should the sub volume knob be set at? Right now I have that at 60%. The last question I had was whether or not to use the Auto power feature..Thank you guys for your input...I am loving this site there are many knowledgeable people here...

Set the crossover all the way up to the maximum point to bypass it. The crossovers are set in the receiver during calibration. You do not want double filtering of the frequencies. Also, set the level to around 50%-60%. During calibration, you can adjust it a little. The most inportant thing is that all you speakers, including the subwoofer, should have about the same level of sound at your main listening area.

Read A Guide to Bass Management. All your questions about subwoofers are answered there. There will be a quiz tomorrow.

Ha Ha. Thanks Big Daddy. I appreciate the quick response!!! Is this Sony sub of pretty good quality? I know it is probably not up to par with a lot of subs but I was just wondering.... I need to start studying for that quiz!!!

It is not a bad subwoofer for less than $100. Obviously, you cannot compare it with a $400 or $1,000 subwoofer. Most users are happy with the Sony sub.
