It was a turd, and as you know you cannot polish a turd..
I had fairly high hopes what with Michael C. Hall (Dexter) and Gerard Butler, boy was I wrong. It felt like I was a seal pup and was being hit repeatedly around the head with a spiked club.

For this movie, I think it has to do that there was already another movie called Gamer (2001), so they changed the title to avoid confusion.
Add to that that France usually changes titles from English to... English. The Boat that Rocked was called Good Morning England (although the US called it Pirate Radio...WTF).
