Never seen this movie before but i read the review on this site just the other day. Sound interesting but i still cant gather from the review if its a serious crime movie more along the lines of their film "No Country For Old Men" or if its more of a comedy such as "The Big Lebowski"
im a huge fan of the two aforementioned films, so im interested in watching more of the Coen brothers work while i already have this topic open, how is Burn After Reading? Thanks a lot! |

i did upgrade my plan to cover blu ray but i have been sitting on the same movies for months, im just not into the service anymore for some reason... ive been buying everything is fargo one of those love it or hate it type films? i suppose all their movies are, everyone i know either loved or hated NCFOM and lebowski im okay with taking certain risks though, i had never seen blade runner till blu ray, everyone told me its a very polarizing movie and love or hate, i ended up loving it |

at least rent it, its a phenomenal movie. its not as serious as No Country, as it has Buschemi, so it has more of a Sick-criminal humor in it (Pesci style, a little Tarantino'ish).
Burn after reading was not great IMO, at least not in the No Country and Fargo club, although its a completely different type of movie (a comedy with a little drama thrown in). Fargo is a more of a dark comedy. EDIT: Lebowski is more in the category of Burn after reading (comedy with some drama thrown in), but Lebowski is miles above Burn after reading |

Lebowski is a cult-classic, which meant people either fell in love with it or hated it. Fargo isn't so polarizing i don't think. it has some gorey scenes which might turn some folks off, and has some aspects we're not used to (minnesota accents, midwest remote scenes, etc), but the plot is incredible and IMO most people find very interesting |

I would normally say go buy it immediately. But I myself have not purchased it yet as I'm still waiting for a better deal before triple dipping.
If you liked "No Country" and "Big Lebowski" you will definetly love Fargo. It's somewhere in between the two movies genre wise and ranks among the Coens best. If the price looks good to you, I say blind-buy ! ![]() |

Cosomotion nailed what I was going to say.
Now about Burn After reading, I loved it. it was hilarious in most parts, and was the kind of humor you actually had to think about a little, or had you laughing later on in the day when you thought back to it. |

Fargo is great, somewhere between NCFOM and Lebowski. Not as funny as Lebowski or as serious as NCFOM, but as entertaining as either.
Burn After Reading is like O, Brother without the charm, I would recommend it to Coen brothers fans, but renting is probably the safer bet. |

Fargo is a great film that you should enjoy if you like NCFOM and Lebowski. Target is selling it for $19.99 and considering picking it up myself in the next couple of days. |

For those of you that really liked "Fargo", you may want to check out the budget Blu of "The Big White".

I have some older friends who are originally from Minnesota and on their initial viewing of the movie, they hated it. They thought the movie was making fun of people from the Minnesota/North Dakota area. But as they began to talk about it with me, I think they began to appreciate the humor and now they actually love the movie. I don't everyone will love it, but it is pretty funny at times and then other times it can be pretty dark.

rent and give it a shot, more entertaining than Fargo imo and as others have mentioned it's not a true musical. the music is very catchy as well and the movie looks great, atmospherically. I think you will enjoy "Burn After Reading" as well, I loved it and I'm a coen bros fan as well. one of my favorite things about it was the nonchalance used by the CIA superiors when making life and death decisions. it has great performances, Frances Mcdormand is hilarious and JK Simmons is excellent as usual. |
