Anyone know if this movie will be able to make an appearance on blu ray? Online it seems to show that some company called Gramercy Pictures has the US distribution rights. However, that seems to just be the theatrical distribution. Doesn't list a distribution rights holder for DVD even. Fox had it in Brazil though.

Anyone know anything about who might have the media distribution rights to this?

That's odd--my DVD version is PolyGram, but distributed in US by MGM. Are they not blu?

Is it? I dunno, I just looked up what he said about Gramercy Pictures, not the movie itself.

If you own the DVD, you are probably right.

Gramercy appears to be the theatrical distribution which is indeed partially owned by Universal. However, I've been searching and havent' seen online who has the DVD distribution rights and therefore likely the high def rights. However, that's possibly good news that MGM distributed the DVD you have.

Looking up Polygram Filmed Entertainment it appears some of their catalogue is owned by MGM and some is Universal with the split being in 1996 which is when Fargo was made.

Yep, your right. On the DVD it says that PolyGram has the 1996 rights and MGM has the 2005 home distribution rights.

Yup, last U.S. release was from MGM. Thus a BD release is probable.
