My laptop's CD/DVD drive died today! - Blu-ray Forum

I need your all's help. I'm not a techie when it comes to computers. My DVD/CD drive on my Laptop (a Toshiba a bought just last year) has died. The guy at the store said that the drive will never die under normal conditions (I did put over 850 music CDs on my HD though Itiunes) I was wondering if an external drive like this onehttp://www.amazon.com/External-CD-ROM-CDROM-Drive-ASUS/dp/B001RKS7AC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264123299&sr =8-1 could replace it. Could I use it to put more music on my Itunes? I have plenty of HD space left! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My original Toshiba laptop had issues with it's disc drive after two months. They had to replace the disc drive so, imagine being a college student who only has a laptop as a means for watching DVDs with a laptop that's disc drive goes kaput. It sucks. I bought an external disc drive which works okay. I don't really use it since the Hard Drive went south on the original hard drive shortly after. So, yeah, Toshiba laptops suck a**! Is your laptop still under warranty?
