Default My Panny TC-P42X1 died today

So I was finally watching Toy Story on my bedroom plasma, and well it died. We were only on the part where Andy brings buzz up stairs for the first time and knocks Woody of the bed.........well anyways the tv made a very loud "pop" noise and went black. The red light was blinking and after I finally got it to "power off" (no more blinking light), I can't get it to turn on/blink anymore.

I checked my email and got the "thank you" email for registering it on March 16, 2009. I believe the warrenty is only a year and I took the risk and did not buy the extended warrenty. It is really gonna suck if they wont fix it as it is only a week and a half out of warrenty. I did send them an email but it said I should get a response with in 2-3 business days. So I will be calling customer service tomorrow.

Has anyone had any issues w/ their Panny plasmas, and if so what did you do. It really sucks as I love both my Panny plasmas and recommend them to everyone. I have no issues w/ my other panny in over a 1 1/2 years. Hopefully if I have to pay for it it will be $300 or less.(the cost the extended warrenty.)

Ouch bro, I can feel your pain. Good luck on getting it fixed or replaced.

Panny is coming through and sending out a tech on Thursday. They are still going to fix it as if it were under warrenty. Panasonic so far has been great to deal with.

Good to hear. I just picked up a Panasonic TC-42PX14 plasma at Costco for $499. If you use your Costco AMEX card it gives your 36 months of warranty coverage.

That's great to hear! I'm happy for you! I have a Panny Plasma as well, although it's now long out of warranty, but it's nice to know they have good customer service.

It got fixed on thursday, It was the C board. I think thats what he called it. He replaced it and when I asked how much it would have cost me to fix it. He said it would have cost about $300-350 fix. So about the cost of the extended warrenty.
