Hey all,
I took the plunge at gohastings.com and got Sin City Recut for $17.99. I watched it at the theater a long time ago and thought it was great. Even though I was pressed for time, I watched about half of it over the weekend and thought it was Awesome! The PQ and AQ is fantastic and I love how the narrative is nice and loud and you can almost feel the voices. I also love the way they give you the option of watching it in it's theatrical version, or as separate chapters/stories (for those that don't know, there are several Sin City graphic novels/stories, and the movie is a compilation of several novels with characters intermingling in each). Each chapter is a separate novel and you can watch the novel/chapter in its entirety, as opposed to the theatrical version which cuts in and out of the different stories. I also noticed many new scenes that, at least I didn't remember seeing at the theater. I don't remember seeing Marvin's mother? One more thing I enjoyed, that again I didn't notice or realized at the theater are these cool funny references to the comic book world. I picked-up on two: - One of the hookers is dressed in a Wonder Woman outfit complete with lasso. You can see her skin tight star stangled shorts and lasso. - Marvin goes to the bar and is very pissed off and is in search of the killer and says words to the effect that he is "looking for something short and hairy" (to beat-up). He then finds a guy sitting at the bar who looks just like Wolverine, complete with side-burns and leather jacket. Marvin then proceeds to grab him and take him away, while we get to see an obviously scared-sh!tless Wolverine! Hilarious. FYI. for those that didn't know, Frank Miller (co-director/writer of Sin City) was the author of the first run of Wolverine comicbooks. I can't wait to see the rest of it but so far it is an awesome buy! Highly recommended! ![]() Last edited by vega2K; 01-25-2010 at 05:25 PM. |
