Default capitalist questions on "this is it"

does anybody know who financed the "this is it" concert? since michael past away the concert will not continue so how much money did they lose?
will the release of " this is it" as documentary will make up for the lost profit?

AEG Live was promoting the concert. They had to refund over $80 million in ticket sales, and reportedly had already spent $35 million in pre-production costs (including paying Jackson some money).

Sony Pictures won a bidding war for the movie rights, paying AEG $65 million. After Sony recoups all it's costs (for production, distribution, etc), 10% of the profits will go to AEG, and the rest goes to Jackson's estate.

According to Box Office Mojo, This Is It made $259 million worldwide, and will likely make boatloads more in DVD/Blu-ray sales.
