Default Pioneer VSX-21 TXH elite

Ok i've come across this site and I'm about to pull the trigger on this receiver.

http://www.click4digital.com/404.asp...formation.aspx

is this site an authorized dealer? from what i've read it looks like it but I wanna be sure.

Also, Does anyone have any good or bad things to say about this particular receiver? It's been a toss up between this one and the Onkyo 707..

I'm not familar with the site or the difference between the Pio or Onkyo but you may get answers by posting your question in the official Pioneer Elite 21,23,25, 27 AVR site HERE.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Pioneer does not honor the warranty for Elite products bought online anywhere. Also you should Google "click for digital review" - bad reviews online. Be careful.

Correct. NO dealer is authorized to sell Elite products online. You can get around that with certain dealers by calling and ordering over the phone.

Yes I just read that on the Pioneer website. The web site in my original post offers a 4 yr warranty for $69 so i'll probably go with that.

dg5150 and fireman325 are both right. Here is the info from Pioneer site:
NOTE: Pioneer does NOT authorize any dealers to sell Elite-branded products on the Internet (only in-store sales are permitted). Therefore, any Elite-branded product purchased on the Internet is NOT authorized, which means that it does NOT carry the manufacturer's limited warranty and does not qualify for any manufacturer's rebate.

I would read some of the reviews for clickfordigital before you decide to do it. "The cheap comes out expensive in the end" comes to mind. On the web page I saw, there was one positive review out of 23. Almost all of the negative reviews were for orders that were charged but never shipped/rec'd.

You can get the canadian version of the VSX-21 here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B002USVKFY/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v= glance

They are identical, except the VSX-9040TXH does not have the ELITE faceplate.

Think over your budget first...Klipsch has some excellent models that work well with it. Also Definitive Technologies.

Both are very efficient, so you'll have tons of "headroom" in term of power output.

But there's lots out there, some of it very good indeed. Others will give suggestions, too.

But what's your budget, again?

Elemental Designs A6-6T6 Towers.
Elemental Designs A6-6T6 MTM center.
And if you use the package builder on their site, you should be able to get them both for $590.75.

The elite vsx21 is a great reciever. Yons of options and many ways to adjust it to your liking. I run polk rtia'9's a csia6 center and rti150's for rears. It drives four towers and a bug polk center just fine.

I would stay away from a brighter speaker like Klipsch or Paradigm since Pioneer receivers are a little on the bright side. Go for something warmer. Take a look at THESE Energy RC50 for $400 each...slightly over budget, but well worth it. THESE Energy CF-30 are a cheaper option if you absolutely need to stay within a $700 budget. A good compact option is a pair of THESE B&W 685's. You can also consider THESE PSB Image T65 speakers for under $400 each.

I agree here, the PSB T55s or T65s would be excellent or even the Energy RC-50s or RC-30s. The brightness of the Pioneer and the Warmth that PSB and Energy have match pretty well.
