They're doing a Blu-ray release?

EDIT - nevermind, I read the info. Sounds like a crappy 5.1 DVD-Video mix of the surround in the deluxe edition and high resolution lossless will only be in stereo. That sucks!!

I was SO close to ordering the deluxe one but $106.00 is a tad high to toss when the vinyl editions haven't been announced yet. I'll end up with the 2 CD edition and probably the 5.1 down the line.

They have a good track record but I don't even know if the album will be any good

Has there been any mention of an independent release of The Incident in a high res DVD-Audio yet? I'm just a little worried this will not happen. The DVD in the box is a video format DVD with DTS sound. I've gotten used to Steven Wilson's great DVD-Audio discs and want to continue.

I have a lot of them as well. I'm sure he will and I'm sure I'll end up getting it.

According to the porcupine tree forum the incident is set to be released on DVD-Audio on february 16th (IIRC) and followed by a blu-ray live concert release in april.

I'm ticked they're not coming through Cleveland again on this go around

I did end up with the triple vinyl edition and pre-ordered the re-release of Voyage 34 on vinyl as well. I'll be adding the DVD-A version of The Incident too.

I expect nothing short of amazing for this Blu concert. Thanks for the head's up!

Both times I've seen them I've had to travel at least 500 miles seeing as how I live in Utah. I wouldn't expect them to be stopping by SLC anytime soon...

Anyway I'm positive this blu-ray will be fan-freaking-tastic! Reference material! Steven Wilson has a gift for creating deep, immersive surround mixes. Arriving Somewhere has an extremely aggresive surround mix which seems to be pretty rare on live dvds/blu-rays. I wish other artists would take note.

Just curious, have you checked out the dvd-audios Steven Wilson has been mixing for King Crimson? I haven't noticed a mention of any of these dvd-audios in any threads but I haven't really looked around either Anyway I definitely recommend them!

I have not heard them yet but I talked with some dudes at the last PT show and they raved about them.
