![]() ![]() http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002VD5S74 Always thought of myself as a GAR fan, but I'd never even heard of this! Looks a right POS. Hated Diary and Land and he's lost his touch. Might still catch this but I reckon it will be the final nail in his coffin. Saying that people will always pay for the George A. Romero's... line. He's a zombie director in every sense! ![]() Anyone seen it? IMDb http://us.imdb.com/title/tt1134854/ |

I watched the trailer and that was enough. Thought it looked and sounded dreadful. Take a look at this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAPABAYczkE I thought Land Of The Dead was a bit of a letdown but as Romero keeps churning this stuff out, it's looking more and more like a classic. I'll just stick with Night/Dawn/Day/Land. btw Two feuding Irish families, the "Muldoons" and the "O'Flynns" complete with laughable tinker accents for their old geezer leaders. ![]() |

This is BETTER than Diary and Land of the Dead.... there's a part where it does actually cross over with one of the other films
![]() Diary was my first real installment of Romero and I was totally underwhelmed but there were moments of pure genius in there. Survival however may be a little Cliche'd but because it doesn't take itself that seriously you can sit back and enjoy it rather than pick holes in the social commentary ala Diary. |

Nice poster.
![]() The Bloody Disgusting site said this about the film: "...cartoon gags plague the film (like when a grenade blows off a wall and it falls down showing everyone inside covered in black) and even the kills were WAYYYYYY over the top. My perspective of a Romero film is that when a zombie dies, you cheer 'cause it was cool, not because it was a funny coincidence." |

![]() ![]() I think we all like our George A. Romero Zombies to be like George A. Romero Zombies ie Dawn of the Dead. They're OK if you speed them up a bit in the classic Snyder remake too. GAR lost it with Land because he tried to make us believe they could think. We're not idiots (like the zombies). Bub (DOTD) might of done done tasks and I let GAR away with that but LOTD was a stinker. He should of just copied Zack Snyder effort which gets greater on every viewing (just like the original). He's lost the plot as a director and just whoring around what's left of his talents and name. |

I think Romero is enjoying the freedom of low budget shoots once more. Understandable after such a long time in the wilderness. But he needs to try to find a happy half-way point between a studio Land and a fully independent Survival.
And hey, wouldn't it be nice if a recently announced George Romero film didn't necessarily involve zombies?? As for the Dawn remake, like most others, I own the more explicit director's cut. Despite it having very silly looking running zombies (28 days actually managed to make the same kinda thing look creepy!), it was an entertaining view. It is what is. Repeated Dawn remake viewings change nothing imho. That remake is a well made but slight...yet stilll very entertaining silly gore film. But that's fine with me - I enjoy plenty of those kinds of films. |

What??? The font, and skewed perspective effect used are similar to 'Dawn of the Dead' and that's it! None of the others looked like it! What are you talking about? |

Look for the Day Of The Dead teaser poster and it's the same font in shadow effect and several of the European versions of NOTLD and day use it, That's what I'm talking about and take a valium for Christ's sake.
