The first trailer for director Mark Steven Johnson’s “When in Rome” has been released and it’s after the jump. The film stars Kristen Bell and it’s a romantic comedy that mixes in the magic angle. Unfortunately, based on the trailer, they didn’t use enough magic as I didn’t find anything funny or romantic.

Here’s the synopsis:

Disillusioned with romance, an ambitious New Yorker travels to Rome, where she plucks magic coins from a special fountain. The coins attract an assortment of odd suitors, including a sausage merchant, a street magician
and an artist. But, when a persistent reporter throws his hat in the ring, she wonders if his love is the real thing.

“When in Rome” also stars Jon Heder, Dax Shepard, Josh Duhamel, and Anjelica Huston and it gets released January 29th, 2010.
