Default Pioneer SC_LX82 switching on problems ... anyone else also?

Sometimes my Pio SC-LX82 does not switch on with the remote. I have to switch it on "manually". Then everything (including the remote) works perfectly fine. It's not "disastrous", just a little annoying. My idea was maybe a build-up of static electricity. The manual does not give an answer. I've written to Pioneer, but so far no reply. Anyone else has the same issue ?

we seem to be not the only ones. I've been reading about the issue also on other forums. What makes me angry is Pioneer's reply. They replied they do not know what could be the cause in my case ... while apparantly it seems to be a "common" occurance. Pity, because I really love the SC-LX82. I was expecting a better customer service from Pioneer, especially when you buy a €2000 receiver.

Perhaps a Harmony universal remote might help? However, Pioneer support should be a bit more helpful for sure.

Perhaps the remote is the issue?

It's not the remote, it's a problem with the AVR itself. There are quite a few people experiencing this issue. The funny thing is it doesn't happen everytime I power it on, maybe every other time. It usually happens when I plan to watch a BD with my wife, and I get to hear "You paid how much for this and it doesn't even turn on half the time". I heard that Pioneer is supposively working on a firmware update to fix the problem.

I have read that if you don't turn the AVR first, but after another device, that it might not turn on. I know with Harmony remotes and the macros that when somone had a similiar problem and changed the sequence that devices would power on, it eliminated the problem......have you tried anything like this?

I've called Pioneer customer service in a different country and they suggested to keep the Kuro-link switched on, even though my TV is not Kuro-link compatibel. It's been working fine for over a day now. Let's hope it stays that way. Maybe a software/firmware upgrade can resolve the issue.
Except for this ... it's a fantastic receiver.
