It's been live for almost a week now. I like the Genius playlists, but I don't like the new progress bar (the thing at the top that shows how far into a song you are).

It still has not fixed the bug with Apple TV that makes it lose its connection at around an hour or two. The only way to get the connection back is to restart iTunes. Pain in the butt.

I love my iPhones... but iTunes is such a steaming pile of horse crap, and this update has done little to improve that. It is still a huge resource hog and ungodly slow. You have to plan a whole afternoon around syncing your phone. I do like the app editor they added, but it left in the apps that I deleted while using the editor when it synced.

No. But let this be a life lesson for you. Buy an external hard drive and store all of your media, and the rest of your important data there. They are so cheap these days, there's no reason not to.

You can move it over, but if you have the room on your main drive to keep the originals, it's better to just copy it over so that you have two copies, making it a true back up. Some externals come with the software to automatically back things up for you.

Is iTunes any better on Windows yet. I really like the Mac version, but the windows version of 7.x is really bad, I have yet to upgrade, so is this one worth it?

Have they done away with the shopping cart? I can't find it, and before the upgrade I had a couple of songs in it. It's irritating because I would add songs to the cart here and there and once it got up to about 10 or so I would buy them. Now I can't remember exactly what I had in there.

EDIT: Nevermind. I found it. For anyone in a similar situation, your shopping cart has been converted into a "wish list".

To get stuff from your iPod back to your computer, you'll have to use some other software. I think iTunes left the feature out of iTunes to try to prevent people from sharing all their songs with each other.

You could also manually do it by browing into your iPod when it's plugged into your computer, and digging in the folders. The problem is your iPod stores its songs in hundreds (or thousands) of folders, in no sort of logical way, so it's a bit time consuming to do it that way.

There are a few free ones you can find through Googling, I think one is called iDump.

As is usually the case with any sort of upgrade, the iTunes 9 update seems to be geared less toward improving the product so much as making easier to spend money on iTunes (by increasing the number of people who access the account).

My video card crapped last week. Being the idiot I am I thought, "Maybe reinstalling Vista will fix it." Doh! I lost my pictures from my summer vacation and a bunch of songs (even some I purchased on iTunes). Also had to spend about 12 hours this weekend reinstalling everything and downloading Windows updates. Now my computer is slower (thanks in part to a cheap video card) and for some reason has about 50GB less space.

I was searching for a solution and found some program that will transfer pictures, songs, etc. from an iPod/iPhone into iTunes. It's called TouchCopy. I am in no way affiliated with this company and have not tried it myself so I'm not vouching for it, but I did see several recommendations on other boards.

Not a fan of 9.0. I played around with it for around 20 minutes and didn't find any improvements. I am against change in general though so maybe I was biased from the start.

I don't know if you have a mac, but when I use it on there it seems like 10x better then the windows version I had prior to owning a mbp.

I was about to edit my post with that

Looks like that's what 9.0.1 fixes:
