Well, I've been addicted to blu-ray ever since my ps3/hdtv projector came in, I can't watch sd-dvd anymore, but due to my limited budget and my blockbuster subscriptions, I can only watch a limited number of movies.
I want everyone's opinion on which movies out now that you have viewed have the best picture/sound/transfers quality. I've heard that Planet Earth, and just about every Pixar film are a pretty good way to show off your setup. But what do you think has the best picture, post up your favs. |

Just watched Atonement over the weekend, and I was thoroughly impressed with the picture and audio quality. Crystal clear image and immersive sound.
The five most spectacular blu-rays that receive my highest recommendation (overall quality - perfect PQ + AQ): Sin City Sunshine Max Payne Ratatouille Drag Me to Hell Other reference worthy titles imo: Star Trek Shoot 'Em Up The International The Orphanage Blood: The Last Vampire (live-action) The quality of all the above titles will guaranteed leave the audience speechless! (granted with a proper setup) Thanks for the classy recommendation! ![]() |

Planet Earth has tons of PQ issues, such as excessive video noise, poorly resolved blacks, terrible flickering which was apparently caused by helicopter interference, very frequent banding artifacts, and sometimes pixel breakup! ![]() I recommend Kung Fu Panda,POTC 2, Jet Li's Fearless, Baraka, Yes Man, Indiana Jones KOTCS, Wall-E, and 2001: ASO. ![]() I just read the thread from the beginning, and I simply cannot believe how many recommend Planet Earth!???? Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great series, and some short sequences are indeed amazing (time lapse..) but they are very short. Overall, the PQ of Planet Earth could more be compared to Woodstock, although it's not even as consistent as that one, and Woodstock doesn't suffer from any of the artifacts that plague PE, except for softness.
