Just got my PSP GO

Pretty slick little unit . Always planned on getting one when the price came down , checked out the selection on ebay and for $192.00 shipped I placed the winning bid on a Factory sealed white PSP go. So at least I got it for a reasonable price. Not wild about joystick placement/ size of nub as I have somewhat large hands but love the fact you can sink up a ps3 controller to play via bluetooth . Cant wait to start adding games . Overall I like it , and even better I now own a model 1000 , 2000 , 3000 , and Go. One question is when the Go is hooked up to a TV is it charged through the TV or can it not be charged while hooked up to a tv ?

You need the cradle to video out and charge at the same time. You can use one of your old PSP charging cables to supply the charging power to the cradle.

2 maybe 3weeks ago B.B. had the 3000 version on sale for $149.99 $20.oo less then what it normally goes for. U guys think it's a sign of things to come? like a new low? I have a $20 RZ certificate coming this month from B.B. & might hold off buying to use it if a new low comes into the picture anytime soon.

If i were buying my first psp I would probably go for the 3000 over the Go too , It does everything the Go does (minus bluetooth) and more , but the Go is pretty nice too. But at $250 its way too pricey to justify over a 3000. I suspect a $199 Go and $149 3000 might be on its way within the next 6 months , hopefully the psp2 isnt too far awy either

Had no idea they were working on a psp2. Sounds VERY interesting. anywhere I can read any rumors or what might be on horizon?

I never had a hand held gaming device; always watched (mostly haha) my friends play their Gameboy games of Mario, Pokemon, Mario Kart, etc. However, if i ever do get a hand held, it would be the PSP 3000. I'm not one for download games only; although i do like that joystick feature.

I think its mostly speculation as to what the exact features are . A few I'm hoping for are N-wireless , dual joysticks , maybe touchscreen and of course better graphics

I do apologize, but I see the PSPgo as a total ripoff. It's download only (so no UMD's), doesn't have a slot for an extra memory stick in case you run out of memory, most of the games out in retail aren't on the PSN for download. And what's worse is if you drop it and it gets damaged, you loose everything you bought from the PSN. So if you spent $250 worth of downloads, say bye to it. Cause you can't recover it, when you buy a replacement. Not to mention that the screen is smaller and it's priced $80.00 more than the PSP 3000.

Well I apologise too but a lot of what you said is wrong.
It does have a mem stick slot and you don't lose a thing if you was to get a new one as your account keeps the download info stored safely away. You just update the serial number.
We got my son one of these for Xmas and gotta say it's pretty damn good. He had the original 1000 before that but he (and I) love the fact that this one is so portable it's not funny. No more carrying around UMD's (that get damaged easily) and large bulky cases. On top of that the battery lasts 10 times longer than the others.

+1. The one thing I don't like about my go is the battery life. Or is it just me? It seems like my 3000 lasted far longer than my go can. But other than that, I love the thing and wish people would just give it a chance. Everybody is ready to declare it dead only because it's DD only. That's the way things are going for portable digital media, deal with it.

Yep, I replaced my 1000 with a Go as well and I couldn't be happier. The 1000 was a beast by itself, but carrying around games/cases and having to pick and choose what I wanted to bring was a pain in the ass. Also a few of my UMD games got broken, the UMD design is very stupid. At least with the Go I can just re-download my game if I need to (for free). Like you said the Go's battery life is awesome, I never worry about having to charge it. Plus USB charging is so handy! Disturbed should get his facts right before voicing his opinions

I never owned a 3000 so I can't say if the Go lasts longer or not, but my Go lasts a long time on a charge even with brightness on full and bluetooth/wi-fi enabled. I haven't timed it but I'm extremely impressed with battery life.

One thing I dont like about the psp gos battery is its not as swappable as the 1000-3000's batterys were , and I think you might even void the warrenty if you try and change it yourself , but the chances your battery will crap out before the one year warrenty expires are slim. But I still would have liked it if it was easy to change , I have 4 batterys for my other 3 psps and its nice to know you can have hours and hours extra batts for those long trips or places without power.

On a side note can anybody tell me if Army of 2 40th day for psp is getting favorable reviews , I'm intrigued by the AD-hoc coop aspect of it.

I want to throw my support behind the PSPgo as well. I love this machine.

I purchased mine the day after the PSPgo launched. I was originally going to wait for the price to come down, but changed my mind after I had gone on a road trip the day before, and spent a lot of time playing with my PSP 2000. I never found the button layout on the PSP 2000 (or my original 1000 for that matter) to be all that comfortable (actually, it's more the positioning of the analog nub and d-pad that bugged me), and after some prolonged playtimes that day, I found my hand cramping up. Ergonomically, the design of the PSPgo is far superior for me. It's like holding a Dual Shock controller, and I've put many hours on the go since purchase (over 750 hours on Monster Hunter alone) without any hand pain.

I love not having to take UMDs anywhere and storage space isn't an issue either. I have Savage Moon, Tetris, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, LittleBigPlanet, Sudoku, Final Fantasy VII, Sim City 2000, Gran Turismo, and Pixeljunk Monsters Deluxe on my PSPgo along with several short videos (mostly movie trailers and the recent "it only does everything" PS3 commercials) and still have 10 GB of space remaining. I store all of my music and photos on the memory stick (nearly 80 full albums).

The screen may be slightly smaller, but it's also much brighter and the colours are more vibrant compared to my PSP 2000. The PSPgo's speakers also seem louder and more crisp than that of the 2000's.

The PSPgo was worth every penny in my opinion. I have also purchased many of the accessories available to the PSPgo including the soft carrying case, screen protectors, charging cradle, and component AV cables (seriously, it's awesome playing Gran Turismo Portable on my Plasma TV with a PS3 controller via BlueTooth).

I'd also like to add that if you're worried about losing downloaded games if you wreck or lose your PSPgo, as someone else mentioned you can always re-download the games to another PSP (1000, 2000, 3000, or go) directly from the PSN, or you can keep a copy on file on your PS3.

I got a PSPGo.

BJ's had it for less then MSRP and then they had sent me a coupon for $10 off anything over $100 which was also useable so I got it for a bit of a discount.

Anyways,... My last portable gaming thing was a original Gameboy. (That was a nice thing to be sure but it was mono-chrome and didn't have a backlight.)

I love the Go,... It's great.

Oh! Well I thought it was like PS3. When I got my new one and recovered my PSN ID, I didn't get my downloaded games back. And I heard that it doesn't have a memory card slot. Guess I was wrong.
