Default Failed to enable HDCP - Cyberlink

Hello

Everytime I try to play a Blu-ray movie on my computer Cyberlink Powerdvd Ultra gives me a error message saying

Fail to enable HDCP. Please switch to analog output (VGA, D-Sub) and try again. - (Error Code = 0110)

I have always been able to play blu-ray movies and I definantly know that my monitor is HDCP compatible, this error has only happened recently. I tried updating the software but it didnt appear to make a difference.

Please help, thanks.

Ok guys, just a quick update, I changed from using my "VGA - HDMI" cable to a DVI cable and everything seems to work fine now. My HDMI cable must be broken.

If there is anything else you want to suggest, go for it.

thanks

You can't use a HDMI to VGA, VGA doesn't transport the HDCP signal. only DVI to HDMI, HDMI to HDMI and DVI to DVI

VGA out from the computer is using the machines DAC
VGA out to a monitor will work - so I have been told.

Now, HDMI out from the machine to some sort of HDMI to VGA adapter will fail - no HDCP handshake.
VGA(machine) to HDMI(Display) should work, just not HDMI(machine) to VGA(display).

I have a DVI to HDMI connection to a 29" HP monitor and suddenly it's giving me this same error. This whole application has given me nothing besides a new problem every week.

I had the same problem once last year on my previous computer w/Radeon HD4670 right after I updated PowerDVD 7.3 4407 to 4617. I forgot what version of Catalyst driver I was using back then though...
Have you updated PowerDVD or your video card driver recently if you are using an ATI card?
