Default What They SHOULD Release

01. Lord Of The Rings Trilogy (Extended)
02. Spider-Man Trilogy
03. Original Star Wars Trilogy
04. Harry Potter Series
05. Toy Story 1 & 2
06. Alien Quadrilogy
07. Star Trek Series
08. Close Encounters Of The Third Kind
09. Titanic
10. The Abyss

This is what I think they ought to release on Blu-Ray. Keep in mind, this is not my personal wish list, just what I think would help the format the most (although I've been waiting so DAMNED long for a version that was at least ANAMORPHIC that I had to let "The Abyss" slide in at #10 out of a personal NEED to see a better release. I'd rather have The Godfather Trilogy (1901-1980) on there if I'm honest with myself. God, that would rock. What do you guys think? Post your lists.

I am really glad to see that Top Gun is getting released on Blu Ray. High def F-14 will kick some serious ass. The first dog fight at Top Gun in 5.1 or 6.1 maybe 7.1. uncompressed PCM a dream come true. Some one get me a bib, there is a pool of saliva on the floor. Please say paramount does uncompressed PCM.

Top Gun used to be my favorite movie (1997) it will be one of the first Blu-Ray's I buy. Top Gun alone should sell a lot of Blu-Ray players. Hopefully it is not released on HD-DVD at the same time.

Ive got to agree on the Sin City movie. That one is definitely a must own for me. I have to throw in Dawn of the Dead though too. How about The Boondock Saints too?

Everyone's kind of nailed the big things I'd want... I'll throw our some of my faves that weren't big hits:

- Heathers (early Winona was hot)
- Angel Heart
- Serpent & The Rainbow

Why would they release all those popular movies so early. Sales of both formats combined are pathetic. they want to make money, not lose it. They need to wait until more people have next gen players to increas etheir profits. One mediocre DVD sells more copies in one week than BD/HD DVD has sold in over 12 months for all titles combined..

I have a business degree so I understand marketing and economics to a degree. I'd like to understand the business model that makes holding back on premium content a GOOD move. Say they release all the titles in the first post. They're going to sell jack right because there are only a limited number of players out there. So what. You can't run a smaller number of discs? You can't put the rest in a warehouse for a while? Those movies will drive people to buy players. What are they waiting for?
