Umm ... Cabin Fever 2? - Blu-ray Forum

I thought this one was coming out on Tuesday along with the first film? Did they not announce a Blu-ray for it? I swear I thought I read an announcement for both films getting released on February 16th.

I thought Cabin Fever 2 was announced for Blu-ray also and I did a Google search and it looks like it was also announced at the same time as the original on many sites. Regardless, it looks like it's only coming on DVD right now, and writer/director Ti West requested his name be removed from the movie because the final cut was nothing like his cut, but his request was denied. West has publicly disowned the final version of the film.

It seems like Lionsgate is lacking with their newer titles and just focusing on their catalog titles. I mean seriously, they couldn't release Cabin Fever 2 with the first film? Blood Creek also didn't get a Blu-ray release, luckily, I saw that one in theaters.

I agree. They should have taken the same approach as what was used for Smokin' Aces 1 & 2 and releaed them in a little box set. They dropped the ball on that one.

Anyway I picked up the DVD of Cabin Fever 2. I did this instead of upgrading my Cabin Fever DVD to blu-ray. And I didn't do the upgrade because no one around here got Cabin Fever on blu-ray! Oh well, hope I like it.

Yeah, I was on that Smokin' Aces boxset because it was pretty cheap to get it over buying both individually. Oddly, Lionsgate is releasing Paramount films like The Relic, Jude, and Hard Rain. Also, Lionsgate got the rights to the Thai film Fireball, there's a DVD release but no Blu-ray either.

I wasn't aware of that. Interesting.... I wonder how different the two versions are?

We're not here to bi*** and complain about a film. If you don't like it, go cry to Lionsgate that you didn't like the film that they released. It seems like every post you make about a movie is nothing but whining about how bad it is, so what. I started this topic because I am interested in this film. I liked the first Cabin Fever. It was a decent horror film that I liked. It's disappointing that they're not releasing this on Blu-ray.

No need to complain. I just feel more obligated to let people know when a movie is bad.

And really, do you want to really get after someone because they stated they did not enjoy something that you have or might in the future? Is my opinion really going to deter you away from it?

There was about five posts before you came into wrecking this thread. We were all for wanting a Blu-ray release for this film because we are interested in it. Everyone does have their own opinion, but honestly, did you feel like thread crapping with; "THIS FILM IS HORRIBLE, DON'T BUY!" I have a question, did you see the film today since it was released on DVD as of today or did you see by other means, IE: via piracy?

Orlando- I thought the second one was supposed to be released today as well. Maybe I was misinformed. I picked up the original @ Target for $13. I haven't seen it in a while so I'm really looking forward to it.

Yeah, Cabin Fever 2 was definitely announced for release on blu-ray yesterday. I saw it on a release list as late as this morning. But after not finding a copy anywhere, I came home to order it from Amazon. And now it's not listed anywhere. No idea what happened here. I'm a fan of cheesy sequels, and I really like the first movie, so this one was a no brainer for me. I'm a bit disappointed.

I rented the DVD at Redbox and I think the reason why the film didn't get a Blu-ray release is possibly due to the ending. On the DVD, it honestly looks like it was shot on a poor as s*** SD camera. There was a lot of compression during that ending and it looked flat out cheap compared to the rest of the movie. So, I believe the ending was possibly shot in standard definition.

i think you guys are getting confused. I'm pretty sure it was slated for DVD only the whole time. I have never heard it announced for Blu ray. But the DVD is definatley out. I have seen it in numerous flyers.
