My first stab at this is for you to put it on some sort of a riser. All of the relevant information on why you should use a riser, and what it does, can be found HERE.
To be clear, are you talking about the sub rattling things in the room, or even itself on the floor? Or is something inside the sub rattling? |

it seems like the screen in front is vibrating. when I press up against it and hold it it compresses it and its stops. |

Hmmm...can you remove the screen? It sounds like either the woofer is interacting with the screen or if there is a port behind that screen, it could be air moving it. You could still try a riser, which would be as simple as moving an end table and placing the sub on top of it to see if that stops it. If it does, great, build a nice DIY riser.
![]() ...well, there is one other option, but I'm guessing that upgrading the sub isn't an option? ![]() ![]() |

I know nothing about sub-woofers, but perhaps you could try and check to see that the driver is actually screwed down securely in the cabinet. If it is, then you've eliminated at least that possibility.

That front cover should just pull right off aneed . Take it off & see if it still does it . Don't go yanking it off , Just try to slowly pull it off .

Did you change the driver? If so, that might have something to do with it. Maybe its putting out more dB's now or plays at lower frequencies than the original.
Every object in your room has a resonant frequency, where it naturally vibrates and when a note is played at that frequency it tends to go crazy. You may have noticed this when a picture, window, door, or piece of paper vibrates like crazy. You'd have to be playing that certain frequency loudly though. You can test this by playing a bass test cd, its funny to find the different resonant frequencies of objects. I'm guessing you are just hitting the resonant frequency of the grill. Congrats, you have more bass than the sub was engineered to produce/ was tested at! ![]() Solutions: Change the resonant frequency of the grille (recommended- use the old frame, just remove the cloth, add some mass to it in some way - try spraying a few coats of automotive rubberized undercoating - then recover with cloth. I don't know if this would work, just an idea, wouldn't cost much) Make a completely new grill Remove the grill I've got Monitor series speakers too and I noticed the grilles are FLIMSY ![]() |
