Default Rattling Light Bulbs?

Hey guys, hoping someone has run across this and has found some kind of solution.

I have a Klipsch Sub-12 that really thunders my room, the problem that I have now is slight rattling in by pot lights bulbs. I was watching Kung Fu Panda yesterday and a loud thump (felt as much as heard) the sound is followed by silence, and I could hear a couple of my pot lights fillaments rattling....then thats all I could hear. I have 12 pot lights in this room, the housings are not rattling, anyone else run across this?

I have carpeted floors, heavy light filtering curtains.....would sound treatments help or do I go hunting for "soundproofed bulbs" lol!

Thanks for any help!

Stop growing your pot where you watch movies and you should be fine.

Seriously though, I've never heard of this problem before. Hope you're able to get it worked out.

I agree with the fluorescents..... I put them in our hallway (8 of them) and thought they'd look weird for recessed lighting.... but you don't even notice them..... I'd give those a try.... (I have the normal flood-looking bulbs in my movie room though, and haven't noticed any rattling )

I have the same problem, but, with our wine rack....the red wine glasses are always bumping against each other when the sub starts firing...

I don't know exactly what type of light bulbs you guys need, but there are some light bulbs on Nextag that are supposed to be "heavy duty" and resistant to rumbling, shaking and moving.

Here is the link:

I must admit this is a new one for me. Have you ever balanced your system levels with a sound meter? It sounds like you might be a bit bass heavy.

My rumbling is only from my liquor cabinet located in my kitchen. I was able to track down and identify all rumbling in my living room area and isolate it to prevent rumbling - but unless my lazy self lays down felt on top of the glass shelves on my liquor cabinet, it's not gonna happen. I can deal with it during scenes with very low frequencies. But eventually I might get around to it.

Just have the test tone on the subwoofer run and go around the room and figure it out. I'm glad I have rack lighting on my ceiling though, but this is a rare problem, to be sure!

Ive got not one but three powered subwoofers in my system. Never heard of this problem before. Its possible that your sub is not set to the lowest hz. The lower the hz the deeper the bass without noticing where your bass is coming from OR your light bulbs are not screwed in properly.

I agree. Compact fluorescents are the way to go. I've changed all the bulbs in my house to these.
