Default Using higher wattage light bulbs

I recently bought an installed a new ceiling fan in our living room. The fan came with 4 15 watt light bulbs, but they just aren't bright enough for the room.

Any harm with switching them out for a 40 or 60 watt bulb?
I would use compact fluorescent bulbs which are lower wattage, but the light switch is a Lutron Maestro dimmer which is not compatible with fluorescent bulbs.

If the lamp base and fan is rated for the total wattage it would not be a problem. Check the rating of the bases in the ceiling fanthat will tell you if you can upsize the bulbs.
