Question Looking for the complete package with $1500 to spend

As the title says, I have a maximum budget of $1500 to spend on a set of speakers, subwoofer and receiver. I don't have a terribly big space, and I also have downstairs neighbors to consider. Basically I don't need a huge sub... but want great sound for movies/games.

I've enjoyed the sound of Klipsch in the past, but there are so many options now, I was wondering if someone might be able to help me out knowing my budget.

I'd also like the speakers to be relatively small, so preferably no towers. Bookshelf size would be ideal, but I could live with satellites. If you take a look at my HT Gallery, you will see my screen has a bit of clearance below for speakers, and not too much on the left/right sides, thus making towers not really an option. Aesthetics will factor into the decision - I want my setup to look clean.

Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Check out MartinLogan's Motion series of speakers. The Motion 2 or Motion 4 might be just what the doctor ordered!

You have a similar budget to what I had and I also have downstairs neighbors to consider. I went with a 5.0 setup to avoid too many issues with annoying the neighbors. I would audition as many speakers as you can and then decide on a receiver. Spend more money on speakers and you will be better off in the long run.

I'm a little confused why you are ruling out towers b/c of space. Are you going to mount them on the wall? If not you will still need stands and bookshelf speakers are typically not much narrower than towers so you are essentially taking up the same amount of room. I say this because if you go with towers you might be happy enough with the low end that you can skip the sub for now. This will allow you to spend more on the other speakers now and get a better sub down the road (maybe when you don't have neighbors to worry about).

Anyway, I would obviously recommend PSB! You can still get the "older" models and get a good deal on them. The PSB Image T55 has a decent amount of bass, doesn't take up a lot of room and sound great. Pair them with a C60 and I think you will be happy. For bookshelf check out the Image B5's.
