Default Auto Dimming On LED's?????

The 40" Samsung LED TV I just bought keeps dimming when the picture gets a little dark during movie watching and it's so distracting that it's all I can focus on. Is there a way around the dimming or should I take this amazing TV back????? I don't wanna...please let me know!!!

yeah turn the option off. Turn the power saving mode completely off, and set the backlight at 6. I dont have my 40 b6000 anymore but i remember that and there where some options to turn it off basically.

Pretty much comes down to calibrating it.

Power save mode- already off
Backlight-already at 6

I'm sorry but i didnt see an actual auto-dimming on/off feature in the menus was it referred to as something else? (if u remember)

what model do you have? If its an edge lit model, you should only notice dimming around the edges of the TV. if you have a local dimming set, there should be an option to turn off the local dimming feature, i believe its called 'smart dimming' or 'smart LED' on the menu options. turning off the smart LEDs would defeat the purpose of getting a local dimming set to begin with tho..........

I have the UN40B6000 and there wasn't a smart anything option but what is this about the special menu that supposedly ends your warranty if u go into it(where does it say it voids the warranty anyway)???

Thats an edge-lit LED. i'm not sure how to turn off the edge smart dimming option, or if you even can for that matter. sorry

I think the only way to get rid of the auto-dimming is breaking (entering) the Service Menu (SM) and disable it.
