I would have to rate Definitive Technology first. They have great service (Chet) and I've been pleased with their products. The only other speakers I've had hands-on experience with is Paradigm, also a good product.

This is a tough one, because there are so many companies with great models. Here are probably my top 5:

Quad
Magnepan
B&W
Wilson Audio
M&K

(RIP)
Linaeum (bought and absorbed by Aura)
A/D/S

This man right here tells the truth. Its a $ thing is a perfect answer, all my speakers are polk but i was new to the home theater thing and had little money. Now im learning a lot more and wanna upgrade my set and i don't think they will be polks.

Can't buy them online..... go to B&W's site, and do a dealer search...... there are bound to be LOTS of places around NYC that will have some for you to take a listen at.....
