Default The Crow - Collectors Edition

Hi,

Just received this in the post today and it's outputting on my 1080p TV as 1080i for some reason even though it's meant to be "full HD" 1080.

Anyone else who has this movie and a 1080p capable tv experiencing the same?

I haven't changed the settings on my telly/PS3 either.

um...what "telly" are you using...

making others guess as to your specific set-up doesnt help one solve a problem.

Sony KDL40X2000.

They don't need to guess - this thread is for people who have a 1080p capable TV and a copy of the above mentioned movie and a Blu ray Disc player.

I'm guessing it's the disc itself wasn't produced in 1080p.

Cant you see we're in the middle of a panic attack over the Paramount deal? lol

Try posting again when we're not too focused on recent events.

But to help you out, yea we're gonna need to know what kinda tv you got.

I saw someone else say it's 1080i, too. I watched it last night and it's a pretty poor release, it has to be said. Though my tv is only 1080i, there was something odd going on at one point in a vertical scanning bit that made me think there's definitely something a bit dodgy about how it's encoded in terms of interlacing.

My tv is quoted above.

Yeah, I would have thought it should be 1080p but when I press the "display" on the the TV remote which gives the display resolution it says 1080i.

Strange one.

So anyone else have this movie on a 1080p capable telly and tell me what output it is displaying at?

The reason I asked is because SOME 1080p TVs are not true 1080p tv's, they accept a 1080i signal and convert to 1080p. So yes, people have to know what tv youre dealing with in order to help.

Ok, and it looks like your tv is fine with 1080p, so we can cross that question out...

(see how useful information can help you deduct the possibilities to a problem??)

Another wuick wuestion. Where do you live that this has already been released? I heard that the earliest release for this was going to be September 30th in the U.K. I cant wait for it to come to the U.S. its distributed by Disney Buena Vista and they havent let me down yet. They will certainly make a good encoing of it.

Yeah - HDMI and on the PS3 display settings nothing has changed i.e. it's set up to display at 1080p.

did you check out the reviews from play.com

"This is a great film - the menus are in 1080p but the film is only 1080i"

"Firstly the box doesn't state 1080p"

"hello people this review of is about the bad recording ie: not 1080p but only 1080i"

...sorry

I just put in on there again and the menu is displayed in 1080p but as soon as the film starts it's 1080i.

It's the disc and the way it was made for sure.

All my other Blu rays are fine.

Things like concerts or Discovery Atlases etc

I know there is a UK release of this movie but its region coded "B" and I was wondering if there is any news regarding this title to being released in America?
