Yes they make smaller amps . Not all Emotiva's are big either .You can find the manufacturers of all the different amps here .

Most likely they are & I am sure it so they can get everything in them . I have A 5-channel & 7-channel amp & they are both about 75 pounds each So I am sure there is alot inside them

No matter what size they are it is worth having

About the heat & the Emo.s . There amps run fairly cool . Barely warm is another way to put it . My receiver is quite A bit cooler as well because all it is doing is processing A signal . You should keep that in mind .

This is a relatively small 5-channel amplifier. Adcom is a reputable company. They make great amplifiers.

The Rotel RMB-1575 is 5x250 watts and only 5.625 inches tall. As an example, the Emotiva XPA-5, which I have, is 7.75 inches tall.

If you are looking for the most powerful multichannel amplifier, Cinepro makes some of the best and most powerful multichannel amplifiers and they are relatively small. Unfortunately, they cost mucho dinero. They are not too far from New York City. Go and visit them.

These are the specifications:

http://www.cinepro.com/Specsheets/Mk...heet300DPI.pdf
http://www.cinepro.com/Specsheets/Mk...heet300DPI.pdf

NAD, Rotel, and Adcom make excellent multichannel amplifiers that are not too big and won't break the bank.

If I were in the market for multichannel amplifiers, I would buy two or three stereo pro amplifiers such as the Behringer EP4000. They are extremely powerful (4,000 watt dynamic power in bridged mode), very small, and cost $350 each. Their biggest disadvantage is that they have noisy cooling fans. I own one and power two of my subwoofers with it. It is awesome. Fortunately, I found a way to replace the fan with a low noise fan for less than $12. I am extremely happy with it, but I am a bit crazy and not afraid to open a brand new amplifier and void its warranty.
