Default Which speaker?

Which speaker do you get the better bang for you buck. Im all about overall satisfaction. I don't wanna overpay for something that is cheaper and can out class the higher end equipment.

And im only asking about these 2 speaker brands, as they are the only ones im interested in. Thanks.

Both companies make great speakers, it depends on the listener though. I own Klipsch Reference and Heritage speakers and Paradigm Monitor's. I couldn't say anything bad about any of them. I can guarantee that people are going to label certain speakers as "bright" or "warm" but when paired with the correct equiptment, these same people would not make such an assumption. Buy what sounds good to you, because you have to listen to them.

I will be the first to say that in a popularity contest everyone, unless they own Klipsch speakers most will say Paradigm. Especially because they have become so popular on this site all of a sudden.

I am also going to assume that you are talking about a budget of 900-1200 and for that money I wouldn't get either, personally. But I suggest you listen to them both.

Now I will say that I think Paradigms have a more refind sound over the Klipsch. Take that as a vote if you want, but I personally don't think either of the RF/WF series from Klipsch or the Monitor line from Paradigm is "high-end".

I think the OP should be more specific and maybe compare two similar models of each brand. This is sort of an arguementative thread IMO.

Okay, that's better. What is your budget and do you watch more movies vs music?

See I have to say that I know where your going with this question, and I think that the Paradigms would be just as good for Movies as they would be Music..... I don't think just because the Klipsch are so sensitive and easy to drive and BRIGHT they make better Movie speakers. My Energys get just as detailed in the highs without having to crawl up in my ear and cause fatigue or produce highs the way the horns do.

Understand, I don't have a problem with klipsch speakers, if that is what he wants to choose, just that, detail in the highs are there with a lot of speakers, they don't have to have blistering highs to notice the detail.

Yep. Anyone saying a Paradigm or a Klipsch cannot be musical, dynamic, whatever...obviously has not heard all they have to offer. Blanket statements on a manufacturer...

The only way I believe you can do that is getting the Monitor 7s, CC190 and the Atom Monitors..... and you may have to do some negotiating, I know they just raised their prices... I don't know to what exactly though.

Klipsch has so many speakers you can really find alot in that price range.

I disagree with you completely. What speakers did you "demo" and what kind of equiptment was it paired with? You seem to label all Klipsch speakers bright and I'm wondering what left such a bad taste in your mouth?

I will take a pair of these terrible Klipsch speakers.

The Heritage line is ridiculous as well.

The Paradigm Sigs are still some of the most transparent speakers I have heard to date BTW.

Exactly, I love so many brands and I think each company has something great to offer. Picking the right set of speakers is damn near impossible if you think about it.

At a dealer.

I guess this means you have never heard them? If that is the case, I would recommend finding other local dealers as well.

Off the top of my head I have hear WF, RF series and the F2s, I think another one, but can't remember I haven't heard any of the Palladiums (P series?). I have heard them on Denons, Marantzs, Sonys, Onkyos, Pioneers and Yamahas. I have heard them at Best Buy and at Dealers that sold both Paradigms and B&Ws, I have heard them on showrooms and in audition rooms. I believe that I even heard a pair of WFs on seperates.

I will say that on the Marantz and Yamahas they were to me easier to listen to because I don't like bright sounding speakers. Kefs XQ30s were not very good on a Pioneer Elite, but better on a Marantz they were more tame and softened, for their highs are bright as well.

I will tell you I like and prefer more neutral and laidback speakers. Energy, PSB, Dali, Dyn, are more in line with what I like and I can say that in comparison to them, I don't care what receiver they are paired with...I find them to be bright.

I am not saying that they aren't good. I simply am sensitive to sharp highs, and Kef, Klipsch are speakers that I find the highs to be sharp. Even with Martin Logan I think that the highs are a little HOT sounding.
