Another one of my favorite movies. This is probably in my top 3.... I know a couple are out in Canada and the U.K which are region free, but I am waiting for this to be released.
Do you think it will be released any time soon?

I hope so. I too like this movie a lot. I'm holding on to my Director's Edition DVD till I know for sure of a BD release. Haven't even opened the DVD up yet.

The UK, Aus, and HK versions are region free with Dolby TrueHD English 5.1. Extras a bit short with just a Lester Bangs interview and the Love Comes and Goes featurette. It is however, the extended director's cut of the film.

I am more than happy with my purchase of the Hong Kong release.

Now why would someone deprive themselves of a great region free blu ray, while waiting for their region to release it ?? Its also currently on sale at Amazon UK.

I do not see it being a priority for Paramount to release this movie on Blu-ray in the U.S. Basically Cameron Crowe himself would have to lobby them for it, in conjunction with whatever movie he is working on now for marketing purposes. The movie has no major stars that excite the studio people on deciding whether to release it or not.

Buy the UK import, knowing the picture quality is suspect. But it does come in lossless audio, which is great.

You are right. I'm getting it for sure. But still gonna hold on to my DVD for the extras.

No commentary, no dice. I'll wait for the eventual US release, which hopefully will include the extended cut commentary with Cameron Crowe.

The PQ is very good, in my opinion.
