Default LeBron James named MVP

Coming down the newswires.

Personally, I hate the man.

My coworker did make a good point though that his stats say he earned it.

He deserved it but it doesn't mean he'll win a championship this year.

He deserves it, but Durant made a strong run at it.

Not surprised. Personally I would have liked to see Wayde receive it.. Look at what he does with such a craptastic cast..

Most hate him now after the fact he left the court right after they lost in the Eastern Finals to the Magic.

You're not alone, as I've "hated" (for lack of a better word) the guy since all of the hype when he was still in high school. I was born and raised in the Cleveland area, and it made no difference, either. Just something about him I can't stand. I think it's the whole "thug" persona. I long for the days of Jordan, Johnson and Bird when basketball was a respectable sport.

For me it's that he thinks he's God's gift to basketball.

NOTE: He is not.

The comments he made about Jordan and changing his number made me hate him infinitely more.

i mean..hate him all you want, doubt him or anyone else cares, but you can't deny the stats. its hard not to respect that much. i think its pretty cool that guys like him and kobe are putting up numbers the way they are, especially so soon after jordan. makes you wonder how fast they'll be replaced

Kobe is getting old. The finger is always injured. And he has arthritis setting in.

Agreed. I thought Durant would be good, but not this good so quickly. Oklahoma City should be good for years to come with their young nucleus and 2 first round picks in this year's draft (neither are lottery picks).

His changing his number really angered me. He thinks nobody should wear Jordan's number, so he's changing to number 6, a number worn by Bill Russell, a player that did more than Jordan could dream of in establishing basketball, as well as numerous civil and race issues. Russell won more championships than Jordan, including 2 as a player-coach, and won just as many MVP awards as Jordan. When the NBA decided to name the Finals MVP after a player last year they didn't name it after Jordan, they named it after Russell. This is not an attack on Jordan, I think he's one of the greatest of all time, this is an attack on James for thinking Jordan's number is sacred but Russell's means nothing.

Which is exactly my point. The statements he made just made me shake my head. They were ridiculous.
