India/Bollywood No logos/watermarks in future T-Series BDs authored by Digital Entertainment.

I have received an email from Mr. S. Chandna of 'Digital Entertainment' stating that, "there will no longer be any logos or watermarks of any kind on 'T-Series' Blu-rays, that are authored by them". Please, do keep in mind that this is applicable only to future titles, not including 'ONE' title that has already been authored and sent for replication.

Hi
No water mark and any other logo in Tseries onward on all the titles authored by us.
You can publish this
Regards
Chandna
This is certainly good news, but obviously not enough to let our guards down, i.e. until 'T-Series' proves itself over a period of time, with several titles, consistently. Specially, since this assurance comes from the 'authoring company' not 'T-Series' themselves and more importantly, the assurance is related to titles authored by 'Digital Entertainment' only and may or may not, cover titles that are authored by other companies. Therefore, we need to maintain our stand in regard to 'T-Series' titles with logos/watermarks and keep the pressure on them. That is, atleast until we see this assurance put into action and or we hear directly from T-Series themselves.

PS: I would like to extend my (our) thanks and appreciation to Mr. Chandna, of 'Digital Entertainment', for the role they may have played in getting 'T-Series' to address this issue.

Companies like T-Series are fool. They still live in some old India when Indians were unaware of all the latest happenings. Todays Consumers are an informed lot. We are not Stupid. No purchase of anything with any sort of Watermark. Don't know how does putting The Co. Logo serves their purpose in any way? Stupid fellas...

I have informed many friends & close ones about this. They are upset & will not purchase the recent T-Series Titles.

Chandana must be commended for his willingness to react upon criticism.

He sets an example which other companies must follow.

Everyone here must keep one thing in mind, a decision such as this, is not upto the authoring company. But yes, the authoring company can impress upon the video distribution company, what is the right thing to do. Which is what Mr. Chandna seems to have done and he should be commended for it. In the end though, it is ultimately the video distribution company's decision and that is the reason why, we must continue our pressure on T-Series to hold to this decision.

PS: Just to clarify, the T-Series 'Sarkar Raj' Blu-ray has not been authored by Mr. Chandna's company 'Digital Entertainment'.

as someone else mentioned in one of the threads;

I like the idea of the media being involved, That would send out a loud message, and make the average consumer more concious of what they are buying.

Hey man, you deserve credit for making a difference.
This is just one authoring house but you have got the ball rolling and I am sure others will follow... nice work chief!

Although this cannot be the "ONE" title, since it is not authored by 'Digital Entertainment', I am quite sure that 'Dil Chahta Hai' will certainly have logos/watermarks. My reasoning for this is quite simple. Remember, Mr. Chandna's email is in reference to only 'T-Series' BD titles, authored by his company. Also, the email is in reference to future Blu-rays only. Thus, even if the statement issued by Mr. Chandna, holds true for 'T-Series' BDs authored elsewhere also. The fact, that the 'Dil Chahta Hai' BD is already ready for release, along with 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects' at the very least and god only knows how many more titles, means that it will have the logos/watermarks. That is, unless the producers had intervened in the authoring of the 'Dil Chahta Hai' BD, just as they had in the case of 'Don'. All we can do is hope and pray.

Most definately the media has an important responsibility here, one which they have so far shirked from. But as the old adage goes, "Better late, than never".

PS: Assuming that we are able to find someone in the media, who is willing to crusade beside us. Wouldn't it be nice to have a list all the issues we would like brought up in the media related to Blu-rays. This list can then serve as a brief for the media person to work with. So let's all get cracking and use this thread to list all our grievances, issues and suggestions.

I wonder how the producers of the film will react when they hear about the boycott.

Kudos to Mr. Chandna for taking this stand. I believe he is one of the few people from Indian authoring house who has taken part in discussion here in the forum has take the criticism positively.

Please, do not do that. For, I am certain your gesture will be taken the wrong way, i.e. logos or no logos, people will still buy our BDs. Also, T-Series has not promised anything, atleast not directly, so I would suggest we don't jump to rewarding them, atleast not until they have proven themselves. In any case, atleast the sales of this title must suffer as we the consumer is made to suffer through their obnoxious logos/watermarks.

PS: Please do keep in mind, this will have a trickle down effect on other video companies too.

It is a request that you join us in this cause, for the better good.

However, I want to make it clear that it is not an imposition.

All members are invited to join the cause, but are free to make their own decisions,

That being said, I think this little movement will make a chain of permanent changes, resulting in better bluray products from India.

I am sure they won't care two hoots. It's not like they have any monetary gain or loss, whether the BD sells well or not. Artistically if they had ever cared enough, this problem would not have been there in the first place. Aamir Khan with all his home productions and now 'Excel Entertainment' with 'Don' are the only two production houses that have ever cared enough, to look out for the consumer, or to prevent the artisitic rape of their work, by these Video companies.

PS: Anurag Kashyap is the only director, who I have ever heard of objecting to and commenting on the abhorrent practise of putting logos/watermarks on DVDs and BDs. In fact, he had talked about this issue in an interview in the 'Hindustan Times' newspaper, that he was very upset with MoseBaer for infringing upon his artistic work, by putting their logo/watermark in the DVD of 'Dev D.' He further went on to state that in future, he will ensure that all his contracts, include a clause that prevents them from putting any logos/watermarks in DVDs of his movies.

Indian, film,DVD,bs makers owe to no rules/regulations. It is profits from stinky films that make those work.

More so any better authored title would be flash in the pan, or accidental lol.

Nevertheless, I have high hopes with chandna and DEI
