Default Funding Blu Addiction

Has anybody sold all of their DVD's just to buy more Blu-rays? I am seriously considering selling all of them and using the money to by more Blu's. Do I have a problem?

I sold over 500 dvds to upgrade to blu but not an "addiction" so so i tell myself that

I kept dvds that aren't aren't out on blu, i kept some of my normal DVD steelbooks that i refuse to get rid of (IE ultimate versus, ultimate death trance, better tomorrow etc) and kept all of my cool tins and limited/collectors edition stuff like anchor bay tins, anchor bay 3 disc evil dead set, repo man tin etc.) and all of my tv shows that aren't out on blu

I still buy quite a few films on DVD because im a huge horror fanatic and the 200+ horror dvds i have i doubt will ever come to blu-ray, maybe 40-50 of the more main stream types like the friday the 13ths (whats up with stopping after a few?)

I really need to unpack the rest of my dvds and get a new shelf because all my horror films are sitting in storage :*(

Yeah, I sold my DVD collection of 95 movies on craigslist for $170 and used the money to buy a bunch of blu-rays the next day at Fry's

Yes, but it's ok, you're among friends.

When my wife and I bought our house a couple months ago, I sold a number of our old DVDs to have some extra cash during our move and to reduce the amount of crap we would have to carry, lol. I wish those funds could have been funneled to more Blu binging, but alas, there are bigger fish to fry when you buy your first home.

Not that hasn't stopped me from splurging a bit the last two months.

I will not sell my LOTR Extended Editions (love the cases) or my Seinfeld, Newsradio, Friends collections. I might keep Storm of the Century, other than that EVERYTHING must go!!! I'm slashing prices!!!

Yeah, I've sold probably 100 DVDs in the past six months or so to subsidize my BR collection.

You don't have to start to worry until you put one of your Kidneys up on ebay...

Will not sell my dvds until they hit blu as I have many titles that I don't think will hit blu in the future or at all.

When I made the jump to Blu-ray, I made a promise to myself to never rebuy movies I have on DVD and instead, buy movies that I don’t own at all. I’ve officially broken that promise as I’ve repurchased over 10 movies I have on DVD already. I’m trying to sell them on Ebay, but no one is bidding. DVDs don’t have anymore value.

I traded in some of my DVD's, and I have money that grows on a tree in my back yard to get my extra funds for SteelBooks, and HT equipment.

Blu Ray only added to my already pre-existing addiction of vinyl, 8 tracks,VHS tapes, reel-to-reels, cassettes, CDs, DVD-As, SACDs, gold plated remastered CDs, Dual Discs, and DVDs.

Oh, and rock bios ( just ordered Nick Mason's book ! )

haven't saved a penny / in debt up to my ass / can never retire
feel better ?

I think the only thing keeping my BD buying habits from getting out of control is just the fact that I have other expensive interests. Every time I get close to going on a serious BD buying binge, I bought a $3k custom made 6-string bass guitar, came close again recently, bought a $4k omega watch instead.

Always something in the way. If I wasnt into all this other stuff id have a hell of a lot more BDs than I do. But I netflix a lot anyway, and just buy my fav's so it works out anyway. I have a list of like at least 30 that im looking to buy. Almost pulled the trigger on all of them before I got this watch.

I think Craigslist is the best idea for my area. Seems to be working for other people. I might try E-Bay as well.
