Can't read Blu-ray disc on my laptop - Blu-ray Forum

Hi i buy a blue-ray disc (Twilight) and i put it on my BD Optiarc BC-5500S and it can not read it at all. This drive is on HP Pavilion DV5. I try to update the firmware of the drive but the latest version that the site provides is 1.04 and alone it has 1.82 so i didn't do that. Can you help me?

What software are you using to play the movie?

How high is the bitrate of Twilight? Some high bitrate Blu-rays won't work on every laptop, but try using Cyberlink Power DVD 9 which is the best Blu-ray software for CPUs that I know of (if I'm not mistaken).

If its that model its prolly incompatiable with your OS or it's broken. Me and several users here have the same drive with the same problem. I've looked into it for months and have not found 1 answer...

I use Cyberlink Power DVD 9 and it cannot play it at all. I don't know about the bitrate.

same drive on a asus laptop, using PowerDVD 8 Ultra.. No problems here

Try these go to cyberlink site download bd advisor, these software tell you if you laptop is capable of play blue ray movies. It happen to me and i have to update the drivers of my graphic card.
