I know this is going to be a super popular thread because everybody wants to see this movie. I hope the Blu-Ray quality is sweet because it should be the best Blu-Ray nobody ever saw!

Well some of the previews did not seem as bad as I fear, so I will see it but not in theaters. I will wait for the rental later on this year. Can't really stand that kid, unless I can bash his little head on the sidewalk

but I do like Jackie and that is the reason I will see it.

Well, at the least the director has such acclaimed titles under his belt, like The Pink Panther 2.

I'm actually looking forward to this movie. I used to love KK 1 & 2. I also like Jackie Chan & love a good "underdog" movie.

Considering it's Columbia/Sony, it should be an excellent transfer with nearly flawless picture and 5.1 audio.

I doubt this can top the original one, they should really change the title to kung fu kid,l i know karate kid original in china, but was in japan they fully develop that technique. and most most western don't know that.

As far as the movie -- Is this a remake/re-imagining, or is this a movie that was to be titled something else, and they felt they could make more money by calling it Karate Kid? I mean, Chan is teaching him Kung Fu not Karate...

Who the hell are the "everybody" who wants to see this? Before this thread the only time I'd heard this movie talked about was to make fun of the stupid trailers.
