Default Life: NBC television show

Currently, this is my favorite show on TV right now, after The Office:

I'm looking for your thoughts if you watched the season finale.

I am still a little confused as to what was solved by the end with Mickey Rayborn and the whole conspiracy...

1. What did Mickey Rayborn "pick" Charlie Cruise FOR, exactly? (he said from the police academy he picked Cruise out from all the rest)

was it to be a cop to pin the bank robbery on?

2. Was Roman Nevikov in the police academy also? Was Roman jealous of Rayborn "picking" Cruise?

why did he WANT to be picked by Rayborn, if that's the case?

____

can someone sum it up for me.

i already watched it twice on my DVR and still have many questions...

I took it to mean Mickey picked Charlie as his successor for whatever it is he does lol, not for the academy. Charlie basically learns that he had been groomed since the police academy to eventually replace Mickey the aging crime lord. The intent was to corrupt Crews' friend Tom Seyboldt, who owned a bar with Charlie, and that by corrupting one business partner, they would also corrupt Crews. However, mistakes were made, and the Seyboldts were inadvertantly murdered, and Crews framed for the crime.

It just makes much more sense that Roman who was a crime lord would want to take over the crime business left by Mikey after his death, and for some reason Mikey thought the straightest cop of them all would be the one to succeed him, and this made Roman jealous of Charlie. But like mentioned above, he hoped that by dirtying Charlie's name that he'd have no choice but to move more towards Mickey's lifestyle and play right into his hand.

This is my absolute favorite show on TV and I would hate to see it canceled. I couldn't believe the final moments and when Charlie showed Roman and his men how he survived prison for those 12 years! OMFG! HAHA, but man I am going to miss Garrett Dillahunt if the show comes back.

Yeah this is exactly how I interpreted it. It makes sense. And yes its was OMFG! when he showed them how he survived. I too hope this show continues to get aired.

I see... i guess i didn't pick up on that Rayborn picked Cruise to be his successor as "Crime Lord", which makes a bunch of sense i suppose for when he says "someone to lead all this", or something like that. Thanks for the views.

The only thing that can ruin this show for me is if they try to get Cruise and Dani together. I think she's really good with the Liutenant.

And YES! The conclusion in the SUV was STELLAR!!! Freaking awesome and a total surprise!

________

Also, does anyone know or remember why the Liutenent from season 1 is gone? What happened to her?

Yes, I too like Dani and Cpt. Tidwell together because it gives me hope that a guy like me has a shot with her, lol.

As for Lieutenant Karen Davis, who, during the first season, tried to force Reese into offering information that would get see Crews suspended and eventually fired. I believe it backfired on her and she ended up losing her job over the way she handled that situation though that was never clearly stated. But in between Season 1 and Season 2, Davis, for reasons unknown, was demoted and returned to field work, but she did make an appearance in the Season 2 episode "Not for Nothing".

There is nothing that could have topped this finale. If they get a season 3 than fantastic because they opened up room for a much bigger storyline now that Roman is gone and Rayborn has shared some massive information with Crews. But if they don't get renewed and that was infact the finale episode, they definitely went out on top!

Don't think I can add anything to the answers because Wylde did a great job explaining it. This hands down is a great show, up there with Fringe and the others that I watch. I love the overarching arc that has continued between the two seasons. What I'm wondering now though is since Roman is gone, Dani's father is gone, Rayborn sang like a bird, the FBI guy was turned back to the right side, is that story arc gone? I noticed at the end of the episode though that there are still a few open spots on the wall, so it looks like they will continue it. I'm just not sure where else they can go with that arc. They caught the guy who did the shootings and got him thrown in jail and seems like they tied off all the loose ends. I hope they pick it up though for more seasons, I want to see what happens with Crews' father and roommate. That's some bad blood brewing there because of Olivia (think that's her name).

I also love the woman from Rayborn's security team, she's all business and play at the same time. I'm just wondering what the price of her helping out Ted with Olivia will be. She kept telling him where she was, and I know she's not doing it just to be nice.

Man, they better bring back this show, it's such a good show, and they opened up a lot more threads for next season! Ted and his daughter and grandson, Ted and Crews' father, the blank spots on the wall, what will ultimately happen to Rayborn, his old partner was implicated a while ago and nothing has happened with him yet, what was Dani doing on the boat with Rayborn. Soooo many things that are left open!
