Default I'm in Chicago...where can I buy blu-rays?!

First of all, apologies if this is the wrong forum. Wasn't sure where to put this?

I've got 24 hours left in Chicago, where I'm staying at the Langham. I went to Best Buy yesterday but their selection of films seems limited. Where else can you find a good selection of films in the city? Looking for places no further than 10 miles, really. Any advice/help would be very appreciated.

I'm from the UK, if anyone wonders why I seem so helples.

+1 to Wal-Mart, Target plus Best Buy. Pawn stores maybe?

Where exactly? I am from Chicago. Try going to Target or a Super Walmart for bigger selections.

You could also try F.Y.E. at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL or Fry's.

Where in London or in Chicago? So, I'm at the Langham which is next to the Trump and Hotel 71 (by the river). I was hoping to check out stores that aren't also a supermarket. I think there's a Walmart of Monroe, which I'm gonna check out, since it's next to a gamestop. But other than that, Target and FYE seem far since I'm without a car. Thank you to yourself and everyone else for ideas, though!

Sadly, no. I use various sites (mainly this one) to check for the region free films.

yes.. at a store is usually the best place. great answer.

I will do you one better, though... Go to Barnes and Noble. It is less than a mile and a half away from you. I typically do not buy there, but as far as physical brick and mortar places, they offer the best selection. I'm not sure, but they might be having a sale going on right now.

Woodfield Mall is about 25 miles away from you. Don't bother.

I had a mapquest link for you, too, but it isn't working. Get the address from the B & N link above. It's super close.

Yes I know, it was more of a tongue in cheek comment. Good luck and all that, but you likely won't find what you want, or the price you want, so you're probably better off just ordering off of Amazon and having it ship to you in London. I wish the state of Brick and Mortar stores was better, but it blows for the most part.

I'm assuming you have a universal player at home? If not, be sure to check the compatibly. Some BDs are locked to region A, some are region free.

There's a Target within a mile or so south of you at State and Madison, if that helps. They have a section of $5/$7.50/$10 movies in addition to other titles.

They may not have THAT much more of a selection than Best Buy, though.

Thanks for helping out our businesses.

The Reckless Records location on Madison is less than a block east of the Target store at State and Madison. You could check both places in one go.

What kind of selection/prices do they have on used BDs there? I don't get down that way often but it would be very easy to work it in when I do.

In April, I found a copy of Disney's Beauty and the Beast with slipcover for $16.

Reckless Records and The Exchange are fairly close to you by taxi. They are both on 1400-1500 Milwaukee Ave. They generally have a good selection of blus on hand. The only Barnes and Noble in that area that still sells movies is on Clybourn. Other than that, the Best Buy on North Avenue is the best big box store for blus. Have fun while you are here and watch out for the hipsters around there....

Go check out Reckless Records. I used to visit it all the time back when I lived in the city.
