Both of those neighborhoods also have nice 'just walkin' around' potential.

They're not exactly destination spots but they can be pleasant places to kill a couple hours.

This thread should've been made a day or two before leaving to Chicago.

Yeah, Reckless Records is about it. I'd say you could check out Facets, but I don't know how good their availability is for purchasing, nor their bd selection. B&N on Clybourn and Webster is pretty good for selection. Prices can be high too. They also get rid of most slipcases, if that's an issue for you. What kind of movies are you looking for?

It was. He said he's got 24 hours left in Chicago.

The Reckless Records location on Madison is less than a block east of the Target store at State and Madison. You could check both places in one go.

What kind of selection/prices do they have on used BDs there? I don't get down that way often but it would be very easy to work it in when I do.

In April, I found a copy of Disney's Beauty and the Beast with slipcover for $16.

Thank you to everyone for replies! (except the two who said 'at a store - how is that helpful?)

I wish the state of Brick and Mortar stores was better, but it blows for the most part.
Fair enough, thanks. Price wasn't too much of an issue, I'm just looking around for blu-rays you can't get in England. Nothing particular in mind (except The Way, which I can't find anywhere) but thank you for contributing!

I will do you one better, though... Go to Barnes and Noble. It is less than a mile and a half away from you. I typically do not buy there, but as far as physical brick and mortar places, they offer the best selection. I'm not sure, but they might be having a sale going on right now.

Woodfield Mall is about 25 miles away from you. Don't bother.

I had a mapquest link for you, too, but it isn't working. Get the address from the B & N link above. It's super close.
Thanks dude! I may go to B&N tomorrow morning, before I leave.

They may not have THAT much more of a selection than Best Buy, though.

Thanks for helping out our businesses.
Stumbled across Target today and had a look around. Had a decent selection, actually.

I'll also try and check out Reckless Records so thanks to everyone for pointing them out.

I'll agree with this. I was in Chicago last year for work and they had a great selection of pristine 2nd hand blu rays. I grabbed a bunch if criterions for $10 to $15 USD.

Best Buy's bargain bins are also worth a look

Why not just wait until you get home and buy them there? You're not going to find anything different in Chicago. Who wants to lug around Blu-rays while traveling.

Assuming he might want to avoid the VAT. There have to be some differences in what the brick-and-mortar stores carry in both countries as well, right?

It's hard to believe you've been a member of this forum for going on 4 years but think that the UK and US have the same blu-ray releases. The only reason I'm interested in some films is because I found I have an extra 3kgs spare in my suitcase, which I am looking to fill.
