Well personally I enjoyed my viewings of Hostel 1 & 2, I would never buy them but they were ok for a 1 time viewing - Likely 3 will be the same...

I think they should have just kept it on the straight to video route. It could be good, but seriously, it's a pass. I rented the other two when they came out on DVD.

Eli...let it go. There was a REASON why nobody went to see #2, it happens to everybody; just chalk it up to experience.

Hostel 1 was amazing
absolutely amazing

the whole progression of the film
made the experience rather raw & creepy..
it offered alot that horror films these days cant
and really brought the dust off of the horror genre

and it added a little more story value

Hostel really should of been left alone
much like The Matrix and its Rather Disappointing sequels!!!

Eli isn't doing Hostel Part 3. Scott Spiegel is doing it. With Hostel Part 2, I think the biggest reason besides the story not being that great was that it was leaked onto the internet two weeks before it's release date, a la X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I couldn't take it serious for one simple fact, this character was embedded in the part of my brain that creates hate. Does he even have a career anymore?

Well, I for one am looking forward to it even though it won't be much different than the others. What I did like about the second one was how it showed wealthy people all over the world bidding on the women.

Hostel is one of my favorite movies. I didn't care for 2, I thought it had a lot of potential, but it just fell really short. I'll at least give this one a chance, but I'm not expecting much.

I am with you on this. 1 & 2 are OK for once and 3 should be the same.

Being leaked on the internet weeks before the theatrical release didn't help either.

I guess my opinion won't be popular but I loved Hostel 2. It was definitely made for a select audience but I thought seeing the inner workings of the business was very cool. In some ways I think 2 may be better than 1. Don't get me wrong I like them both but I actually hated the male characters in 1 when I first saw it. I have since grown to appreciate them but I felt that they were very stereotypical, of course I think that was the point. I found the female characters in 2 to be much more entertaining. Plus 2 had an intentional euro-horror vibe that I really liked. Anyone aware of Eli Roth knows how much he likes Italian horror and genre pics and this really came across in 2. That's probably why american audiences didn't like it as much. Euro-horror is a very select taste. I think it's cool that Scott Spiegel is doing it although I'm a bit disappointed that Eli is involved considering how adament he was that there would be no Hostel 3. Hopefully his involvement will bring it above Cabin Fever 2 cause that movie sucked.

Very well said. I couldn't agree more with that assessment. I have still yet to watch Cabin Fever 2, and after hearing Ti West's diatribe railing against the entire production and his attempts at having his name removed from it, I have no desire to.

Sorry OP this is a little off topic.

Cabin Fever 2 has bad pacing that is it's major problem. The movie could be OK but as it stands it feels like it's unfinished. Some scenes are cool while other ones go on like they were edited by a 5 year old using Ulead Mediastudio (the old one if there is a new one.) Anyway if you can see it without having to purchase it you can form your own opinion but I seriously suggest against blind buying.

Hostel I was unique and interesting.

Hostel II was a train wreck.
