Default AVCHD in Blu-ray Disc players ?

Many HD Camcorder record the video in AVCHD format on DVD. Where can I play the DVD ? A "normal" DVD player can't handle the resolution. Can I put the DVD without any video editing into a Blu Ray Disc player and it will play it ?

Yes. Just put the AVCHD DVD on a BD player and just play it.

Works fine for me. I can take out the SDHD card from my Panny HD video cam and actually just pop it into the PS3 and it plays back fine.

Or I can download the video to a media server and stream it to the PS3 and it plays fine (except the DD5.1 is downmixed to DD 2.0 )

HINT: if you have a Windows XP PC with Media Player 11 and you want it to stream unsupported video formats to the PS3, you can simply rename the extension to somethng WMP 11 understands. The PS3 should play it back just fine.

BTW -- some of the early software out there for burning AVCHD DVDs or BDroms is pretty crappy. Download trial versions first.
