Fantastic show! But I'm not sure there's a lot of rewatch value. Can't wait to see how they develop Season 2.

The concept of the series was pretty decent but all it took was sitting through the agonizing Episode 1. It was like watching an 8 hour version of a very horrible Nicolas Cage movie. ACK!!! I found "The Unit" much more interesting.

Yeah, I agree. I really enjoyed the show but really can't imagine wanting to watch it again.

Are you sure you were watching the correct show? This was easily my favorite series of 2011. Probably in my top 10 favorite shows overall, and that's only after a single season!

Yeah, it was definitely better than Dexter 6, Boardwalk Empire 2 and even gave Breaking Bad 4 a run for its money.

It was extremely good.

Only saw 3 episodes but will pick this up. This and Dexter are the only good shows left on Showtime.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will bring Homeland: The Complete First Season to Blu-ray in August. The premiere installment of Showtime's Golden Globe-winning spy drama - it won for Best Television Series (Drama) and Best Actress in a Television Series (Drama) - stars Claire Danes (Romeo + Juliet) as Carrie Mathison, a troubled CIA agent convinced that Al Qaeda is planning another terrorist attack on American soil.

From Fox's official synopsis:

"Carrie Mathison...suspects that a rescued American POW may not be what he seems. Is Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis, Band of Brothers) a war hero or an Al Qaeda sleeper agent plotting a spectacular terrorist attack on U.S. soil? Following her instincts, Mathison will risk everything to uncover the truth - her reputation, her career, and even her sanity."

Fox's three-disc Blu-ray set presents Season One in its 1.78:1 broadcast aspect ratio with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks. The set also contains the following supplements:

Terrific show, very compelling and addictive with each episode. Highly recommended to anyone who hasn't been able to see it. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis have some great characters.

Day 1 for me. Really wanted to catch this when it aired, but never got around too it. Honestly, I'm surprised by all the glowing reviews for this show based on the trailers I saw, but who am I to argue, haha.

Agreed its a great show but yes the rewatch value is very low

Trailers are often misrepresentative of the end product. If you're expecting anything like 24 or many of the other shows that ads for this invoke you're in for a HUGE surprise. It's surprisingly quiet and character driven at times. It's exhilarating too. It's honestly unlike anything else on TV right now.

100% agreed. Like others have already stated: there's not much replay value but it is an excellent show.

Got an email yesterday from Amazon about the release date. I've had this pre-ordered for months, even with the warnings about replay value. I probably won't be able to watch it for a while since a ton of other shows are coming out around the same time, but I'll be keeping my pre-order regardless.

I just hope Fox doesn't abandon the show on Blu-ray after the first season like they have with some shows in the past. It does well for Showtime, so hopefully that translates into sales.

That's actually great. I'm in the minority when it comes to these boards, but I was never a fan of "24". This sounds more like my kinda show, characters are the forefront, plot not as important.
