Default Fox to remain region strictly coded ?

With Fox set to release new Blu ray titles soon in North America, does anyone know if they are staying strictly Region A coded, or will they go All Region at least with their back catalogue titles ?

Would be nice if they would, but honestly I don't think they will become region free...

Most of the recent titles released by Fox in Europe and Australia are region free:

Titles released by Fox that are region-free:
Alien vs. Predator
Courage Under Fire
Eragon
Men of Honor
Night at the Museum
The Omen*
Phone Booth
Planet of the Apes
Rising Sun
The Sentinel

I hope that they also have changed policy in USA.

Night at the Museum purchased in Australia is region B only. I check the back covers when looking through the stand and I have not seen a Fox title yet that has anything but region B in my local store in Australia. I can't speak for Europe but in Australia they are all still locked.

I honestly don't know. FOX has always been very protective of contents that belongs to their releases i doubt they would go region free.

Your probably right. I just hope that the international release schedule outlined in the original Fox press release are true. No pre-order dates in Australia that I have seen yet

I wouldn't worry too much. The Blu-ray region coding protocol explicitly states that any new pressing (I think) after one year of the original release on Blu-ray will have to be region free. So after at most one year plus some extra time for the stock to clear the retail pipeline, you can get anything from anywhere in the world.

enjoy

I am fine with the region-coding on their releases for now so long as they optimize audio-video quality. At this point of this war that is all that matters!!
